Lo-Fi Rocker!!!!  Maybe it is a good thing my credit card is maxed out.  I am not sure I would be able to pass this temptation up....
Big Air. Kids today, that's all they want, big air. I say stick to the mountain. That's where the fun is. You want big air kid? Pull my finger.

Those boards look awesome, I like the graphics. I have never had the chance to try out a Rome board, but quite a few people were riding them at my hill last season, and they all loved them.

I killed Pat... again!

Wowzers.  I wasn't really on board with some of last year's graphics, especially the Artifacts.  But damn, they're on point with some sweet sh!t this year.  Very impressed.  Clap

I've owned 4 different Rome boards and don't have a negative thing to say about any of them.  Good quality stuff from a pretty stellar company.  Don't be afraid to dive in.

Im not too familiar with Rome product, I know they are one of the most popular brand. What is equivalent to a Burton Custom? Im looking for a board thats good for all mountain. Im moving away from Burton for sure.

paul, one of the two founders of rome (probably the main one) was part of the team that invented the burton custom back in the day.  he left burton years ago because it was going in a direction he didnt like, and he started rome with a friend.  rome is run by real snowboarders, founded on the ideal that thats how it should be.  its an awesome company.. my shop is picking it up this year and im stoked on that.

the agent is the equivalent.  its that high end non pro-model do-anything board that pretty much everyone can have a blast on for any type of riding.

ill be riding an agent as my all-around board this year.

Spenser, what made you decide to go with the Agent over your other potential choices? (BSOD etc). I am hoping to demo the Agent but based on what I have heard it is at the top of my list with the Never Summer SL.

to be honest i had hardly looked at romes line last year.  the rep added me on facebook around the time when i was going to talk to them about possibly opening with them last minute since we are pretty much cancelling burton this year, so obviously i ended up looking at the line.

i had a lando c2 160 last year and really loved the c2 rocker (same concept as romes reverse mountain pop), but it was a more aggressive board than i like for true all around riding, and i just dont like MTX.  the agent isnt quite as stiff as a lando/phoenix, and im also getting a 57 instead of a 160.

i also had an indoor FK 158 last year and LOVED it for everything, but in general i would tend to prefer a slightly more aggressive board i guess?  not necessarily stiffer, but a more aggressive rocker profile i guess, like c2.  i love flat kick and its fine everywhere for me.. tons of fun.. but i realized with the lando that i do miss some of the pop and edge feel that you get with camber.  i feel that a c2-style rocker tackles more attributes of camber and rocker than any other design out there.  pop and edge feel from camber since you pop off the tips where theres camber, and you press the whole board into the snow when you stand on it, not to mention the contact points get pressed in even more due to the cambered areas... but overall the tips are still lifted if you lay the board flat on the ground without standing on it, so you get the float and playfulness of rocker.

i know i would LOVE the black death too and that is what i had decided on before rome came up.. so its partly my reasoning above, and i also just havent tried a rome board before and its been on my list.  i think the agent rocker will be awesome.

ill still have two capitas (2011 charlie 58 and 2010 charlie 64).. and for 2012 capita has that same type of c2 rocker coming out, so its only one year.  though im sure i will ride romes in the future too.  i really like what theyre all about, just like capita.

Rode the Agent Rocker last year at the VT meetup, and its a pretty sick ride as well. The Headline looks like one of the best deals on the market. Sintered base, and a whole lot more for 400 bucks.

I've always been a fan of Rome, but after meeting some of the guys last year Spenser is right on. Down to earth guys that just love the sport. Sounds cliche, but theres something to be said for it.

"i also had an indoor FK 158 last year and LOVED it for everything, but in general i would tend to prefer a slightly more aggressive board i guess?"

This is exactly how i feel. I spent most of last year on a Never Summer Evo which I loved but at some points it just was not enough. I don't jib too much and I just want something that will handle a little more speed, tracked out runs and bigger jumps better while still being playful.  Part of my trouble might have been using a softer board than I am used to, in a 158 at 185 lbs. I know you like slightly bigger boards and ride a 158 at a lower weight.

My other board this season will be a Never Summer Premier which I love for just ripping lines. I am looking for another board that can be my cruising, playing around board. I was initially going to do the Never SUmmer SL but part of me wants to branch out so I was looking at the Agent. I am figuring I would do a 159in that. I am also hoping I can demo the Ride DH2 and maybe an Arbor Coda.

Have you ridden the Mod spenser? I hear alot of people ride the Agent and Mod, and tend to go the Mod afterwards. Not sure if thats just placebo or real (more expensive board must be better).

I've got one you can buy if you really want one.   162, I think from '08.  The one with the silver base, when it was still "wax-less".  Ridiculously sweet board, just a hair too long for my liking.

153 Artifact rocker for me. My new jib board. Good thing ive got a few nice big Airblaster and Rome stickers to cover that ugly topsheet up. haha.

Hey scorer, since you rode the 153, did that topsheet look more brown or yellow in person?
