any recommendation of stiffer highbacks for my contacts.

Force, Data, Contact Pro.  I believe.  Force's and Data's should be semi easy to come by, at least if you wanna purchase them.  Not too many people want to trade them for Contact highbacks, tho, for the same reason you want something different.

the new union straps found on atlas-based bindings (atlas, SL, MC, team) and contact pros is rad though.  wider, asymmetrical, and the strap core is cored out like flux.  i think i will like those a lot more than their regular direct connect and probably won't need to put the flux strap there.

Wow, solves so many of the issues I've had with Union in the past. Are the ladders from the Rome/Flux straps? Did you have to do anything overly funky with the hardware to get that setup to work?
for the toe strap you need to use rome ladders and hardware and i just keep the rome buckle on.  i don't think a union one would fit on their strap anyway.  goes in the same way as union, from under the base, same general design.

on the ankle strap i keep the union ladder as it fits the same.  to attach the flux strap i use a skateboard bolt, i think 1"?  stick that through from the inside of the heelcup so the phillips head is on the inside.  then the strap goes on, then i use part of the flux hardware as a washer, and then it's just the nut from the skate bolt.

in this picture i think i have a 1 1/4" bolt so it sticks out a little.  the washer thing you see is part of the flux hardware, and part of it goes in the flux strap's hole so it's not actually just a washer.

it's real simple though and works great.. i was even using skate bolts on some of my unions when i still used their ankle straps, cause some of my normal union hardware was stuck (they had issues with using too much loctite for 2011 models; some of the binders
hardware was stuck right out of the box so you couldn't rotate your highbacks or remove the ankle straps) and i had to drill it out, after it had already rounded out the hole in the heelcup that normally has two flat sides to keep the hardware from spinning.

hope that all made sense.. i haven't been awake long and i'm kind of in a post-hangover daze haha.  woops...

Does the footprint of a size 8 boot differ from a size 14 boot?

AKA - yes, they're different sizes.

Also, it's pretty crazy how yellow those acid Forces look in your pics.  Must be a pretty rockin' flash you got there.  I'm jelly.  Want some acid Forces for meself.

not usu into stickers but for some reason I can't help from putting them on my splitter.  I also cooked up the voile hardware for this board and my wife's into a purple-type color, you can kind of see it on the heel lifts in this picture but not too well

I've seen the orange and green mixed together.  Not really feeling it.  Too "construction zone" feeling.

I just ordered a pair of Atlas binders.  Not looking like a 2012 Frank project is gonna happen for me anytime soon.  Gonna have to wait to buy some second hand I guess.

I took a quick look at the Atlas bindings at a local shop, they are very light.  Post a review when you receive them and get a chance to ride them.

I wanna hear about the Atlas too, had my eye on that for a while as it's been getting good reviews as a responsive freeride binding.

Also here's a pic of how the dye-job turned out on the voile hardware for my wife's splitboard -- I used red but it turned out a bit wine-colored (cabernet, anyone?).  No one else will have this color, though, I assure you.

Nice, the Atlas looks like it's going to be the primo binding for a while to come.  Hit us up ASAP with a review, cause I'm thinkin I need a pair of those as well.

No need to apologize.  It's nice having somebody bringing a little variety into the mix.  Keeps things interesting.  There isn't really a set, specific thing that's allowed here.  Anything goes; the more the merrier.  Dye jobs, color swaps, in-breeding, etc.  I'm a Union only guy, but doesn't mean I don't like seeing other stuff, too.  Just cool when people get creative with stuff.

As far as the Atlas goes, I was a little hesitant myself to order them, but I figured I'd step out of the comfort zone (owning 5 pairs of basically Forces already) and try something new. The new Stage 3 baseplate is pretty snazzy and I'm really hoping that the new asym ankle strap is something worth talking about.  I'll be sure to do a full on review of them whenever they show up as long as somebody else hasn't already beat me to it.

In my own personal Frank'ing news, I've recently sold off a small group of parts to somebody to support their Frank project.  Pretty excited to see what he does with it.  Also, with how much money I just dropped on the new board/binding purchase, I don't think my vision of '12 Force Franks is gonna happen anytime soon.  Who knows, tho.

Still got one project on the burners and I'm hoping that it gets wrapped up sometime soon.  Getting kinda antsy in my pantsy to see them when they're finished.  Involves a little work I can't do myself, so I'm crossing my fingers that they come back to me looking sweet.

I got really stoked that the Atlas white bindings glow in the dark, and wanted em real bad til I realized there's this thing called, glow in the dark paint, regardless, I still want to demo some unions in the Atlas line (atlas,mc, or SL) and mix and match them.
