Info: 2009 White Honda Civic Si

Alright so this is what I have done:
8k HID headlights
3k HID foggies...yes a very sad list indeed

Planning on getting:
15% all around tint
Blue/Red Brembo calipers
Sound system
JDM retro fit glass housing projectors

i want to do some interior work. maybe some courtesy lights for driver/passenger, and blue bulbs for the license plate lights -anyone have any places they can hook me up with?

basically give me ideas when college stops raping my bank etc..also haters just go away i'm tired of dealing with american car lovers.

out of curiosity, how much bigger has your penis gotten since the additions?  and what do you project its final size to be, after finishing all this work?

and yes, i realize you appear to be female.

It is all great fun decorating your wheeled toy but I think Honda Civic is not worth putting so much money into it - at the end of the day it is still just a Honda Civic.

Better buy more of a good snow gear LOL.

So your looking to upgrade both performance and looks? Civics not really a car that'd you'd upgrade performance wise it is? Although the new civic hatch looks pretty sporty.
Go for something more practical like roof racks, No. plates that flip around so you cant be caught for hooning and air-fresheners LOL

Haha Spense. Made me laugh, i know plenty of people who actually think like this.

If only Queensland had snow...

Ah c'mon, Spenser's comment wasn't that bad, I found it quite funny.

At the end of the day it's still a Civic, save your money for something important (down payment on a house?).

Personally wouldn't bother with any more mods except you needs decent tunage in any car. Save some dollar and get a huge sounds system in there.

Oh the joys of living in Europe where real cars are made.

Tune your engine !
Change exhaust sytem with racing exhaust, then chip tuning, port grinding,
increase displacement, racing gear box FULL CUSTOMIZED.Put high high TURBO and INTERCOLER.Maybe u hawe to changed and the suspension . Don forget the BRAKES - if u want to stop somehow    . And after that the only sound that u gonna be hear in your car will sound this - WROOOM WROOOM .
Girl - this i sa just a car - just buy good sound system and forget about the rest . - THE CARS IS ONE BAD INVESTMAN - but is necessary
But the money is yours - spendit like you do for a 4 wheel and iron

heh, all these jokers just give the girl some answers LOL

On a serious note, i would probably have all the interior lights changed to LED (if they aren't already). A 25% tint would be more reasonable if you ask me. 15% is just alittle too dark... but you should double check with your state's law's.

Have you thought about upgrading your suspension? Strut bars, shocks, ball joints, springs, possibly coil overs?

What about swapping the fluids in your car to high quality ones, i think in the LSD, transfer case and transmission, people throw in some of that synthetic mobil 1.

I wouldn't get the big brake kit either, major overkill on the car, unless your going to track it? I personally think its a huge waste and if your going to have to someone else do it, it's just gonna be money. Instead, paint your calipers and throw in some ceramics and maybe some drilled rotors if you like.

Some comments on what you plan on doing:

1. Brembo calipers
Just in case you didn't know, if you want brembos on your car, you'll have to get a big brake kit.  You can't just get the calipers.  The big brake kits are $$... easily $1500 to $2000 depending on the type you get.  I got crossdrilled rotors and better pads and painted my calipers.  It looks really good and much cheaper.

2. Projectors
If you already have a hid kit installed with no projectors, I would recommend this be done.  If you've installed HID bulbs in a halogen housing, the lighting doesn't look as good because the light sprays out in every direction.  Projectors direct the light and make it much cleaner.

3. Sound System
This is one of the first things I would do.  I drive an A3 now and the only thing I've done is the sound system and lowering.  You'll get much more enjoyment out of a sound system than any other thing you install.

4. Tint
Matter of preference.  However, make sure your local laws allow you to get 15% all the way around.

Looks...

1, Carbon fibre
Personally, I would not go for the carbon fibre hoods, trunks, mirrors, etc. but if you are into the "look", you could do that.

2. Black roof
In addition, you can try to viynl your roof as well.  Viynl option is good because when you get bored of it, you can take it off...  The black roof is nice, My A3 has a black roof and is white.  It looks hot.  Not sure if it would look right on a sedan though.  Maybe get someone to photo shop it for you to see what it looks like.

3. Lowering
definitely lowering helps the looks.  But I wouldn't go too aggressive.  1 to 1.5" drop. i had a 99 civic Si (SiR in Canada)... If you lowered your Si, it would still be higher than my old si stock.  I lowered mine with the eibach pro-kit and i still drove it to the hills...

4. debadge
I like to debadge my car.  For example, removing the H from the front grill would make it look better in my opinion. You can remove all or some.  up to you.

5. front skirt
Look for a front skirt that isn't too aggressive looking and it could really improve the look. Skirts can also make it look lower

Performance...

The Si has 197hp.  It is pretty decent already.  I don't know if I would waste money on performance.  Doing basic bolt-ons like air intake, catback, header, etc. will cost quite a bit when you add them up but you won't get much power gain.  If you REALLY want performance improvement, throw a turbo on there.  Turbo can be done for around $2k which is what all those basic bolt-ons would cost you.

Definately consider your state law. A lot of my friends have been pulled over due to tint. And unless you want to waste money putting tint on just to pull it off when the first cop pulls you over, or shelling out a lot in ticket fines, I would definitely suggest checking the laws. Having a car with mods on it is something cops notice more often.

I can't stand people who install those HID lights.  Most do not aim them correctly after they install them.  It's annoying to be blinded by somebody's headlights that are pointed up in the air instead of on the road.

Good recommendations. But I would recommend against any upgrades, really, coming from  experience. Save your money. You will thank me later.  your car is beautiful as it is.

-Spenser I thought your comment was funny.

I think its a little absure to want to redo the interior of a brand new car.... but thats just my opinion. My only advice to you is to think about your warranty if you're going to do any serious work on your car (ie engine/exhaust) you can void your warranty with certain mods

but it sounds to me like you're a ricer, not a racer.

save your money for things like oil changes, summer tires, winter tires, insurance, gas, floormats, rust proofing, keeping it maintained.

Isn't HID illegal in a lot of states?  If you are more concerned about aesthetics look into rims, tires, and window tint.  I have no comments about improving performance of a Honda civic.  My wife has a civic and I drive it often.  O.K. car but nothing I would brag about or pimp out unless I wanted to be laughed at.  Save your money, do some minor aesthetics changes and go from there.

people choose how to spend their money however they want.   If they want to spend it on their car and it makes them happy, it is their choice.

How many people here buy too many snowboards?  I myself have bought 3 this year.  Do I need it?  NO.  I could save my money for lift tickets, gas, etc.  But, no.  I didn't.  Technically, 1 board should last you years.  Many people on here buy new boards every year.  Overkill if you ask me.

I'm not saying to not spend her money on her car.... I live in a house with how many cars at it? 6? I have put money into my own car, and lent I don't know how much money to my brother to build his car (he races).

I'm just saying it seems redundant to pimp the interior of a car from 2009.

if car pimping were easy, I'd have a 1970 'cuda with a green paint job and god knows what in it.

I was just offering a reality check that if shes tight on money, that those maintenance fees can add up... and rubber aint cheap

Also, you probably have a loan on this car, if you ever want to re-sell the car buying things like rims, some mods, upgrading parts like headlights (if in stalled correctly) is a plus, those can add value to the car.

cutting the interior upholstery and if you shtook it up, is a big risk to take to add lights and fancy crap to the interior...

like I said though, thats just my opinion. The warranty stuff, is not really an opinion. If you run a new exhaust and remove or change the cat you can get back flow into the engine and there are sensors in new cars that will detect this and void your warranty... same thing with adding a turbo to certain cars - it voids the warranty.

Well the interior mods she posted were only changing the bulbs on the courtesy lights and maybe the dome and map lights. If you want, you can get an LED kit which would have the courtesy lights, map/dome lights and license plate lights. Search around some civic forums for suggestions. Those light mods don't cost a lot at all. I think a kit like that for my accord was like 20-30 bucks? Just make sure you get the right bulb type. Also, I'm pretty sure having blue lights as your license plate lights are illegal. Imo, I think it looks like crap I'd rather get an LED bulb for my plates.

Most warranties can be voided for any mod that increases horsepower.

I'd say sound system, and some nice rims.
