One of the assets to be liquidated is SS's business goodwill (i.e., name brand, or "business") so I don't see why this would preclude SS proceeding under new ownership, right y'all?

I wouldn't expect too much from that info.

People, chapter 7 is more or less doom for a company.  EVERYTHING down to shelving is sold off and the recouped costs are cut-up by the debtors.  Someone will buy the domain, probably one of it's biggest assets, IMO.  So yes, this site/store will live on in some iteration after it is sold off to a bidder or party the court will OK. 

And you just don't file this stuff in court on a whim or for fun.  Bankruptcy for a business is no joke and the fact that the state has this on the docket means it's gospel.

No "more or less" about it.  Chapter 7 is liquidation.  They are forced to sell everything and close forever.  Typically, it's sold to a liquidation company and they move it, which may be what's happening, now.  The 2011 product has likely been taken back by vendors, now, which is why you dont' see photos.  I feel bad for anyone with a gift card to this place.

Nope.  Most brands require it to go through a dealer.  I worked in shops for YEARS.  Burton, Lib, damn near everyone.  You have to go through a dealer.

its also funny there are those on EL who bashed on SS but are now admitting they bought luggage here because it was so cheap
