i just bought my first snowboard and was wondering how i detune it? should i bring it to a shop to have it done or is this something i can do myself?

You you really need to detune it? Most board can go without having detuned. Unless catching edge is a big deal for you. You could do it yourself with a small file. Looking into the Dakine file sold on sierra.

If you ride the board a few days it will naturally detune itself

thanks for the info i think i'll take panther's advise and ride for a few days and let nature do its thing, although i think i'm going to file the top edge a bit to protect from chips, thanks again guys
