I set up a group sales account through Wachusett Mtn in MA. Prices are good through 11/17, and cheaper than the regular pricing.
Student Pass (good 7 nights and 5 weekdays, must be active college) $189
Bronze passes (good 7 nights and 5 weekdays) $229
Silver passes (good 7 nights and 7 days early/late season, same as Bronze during midseason) $289
Gold passes (7 day 7 night) $499
Also some good discounts on rentals, classes, etc Check out the link:
Group name is: BendoCT
Get it!

wow, now there's a mtn name i haven't heard in awhile. when i lived in MA and got the pass to their every yr, we found the group (i think at least 10+) season passes were a really good deal for the college evening/wkday deal. it was always pretty dead in the late afternoon/evenings, especially during the wk.

Yeah, the night/weekday pass is pretty cheap (especially as a college student). I did a lot of midweek riding last season and found I got a full day's worth of weekend riding in over a couple hours at night because the lines were negligible at best. Well worth the drive up from CT for me (since it's about twice the vert as the stuff that is "techinically" local to me). Assuming ortho gives me the thumbs up to ride this season with the shoulder, I expect to be hitting Wawa once a week this season.

Cool that you're doing this fost. I'm picking up a college pass to Sugarloaf/Sunday River/Loon this season, but I'm also thinking of picking up the student pass at wawa for weekday nights. Decisions...

Get 'em both Herb. I mean, what does it take to make the Wawa pass worth it? 5 visits? You can do that before the new year.

^ I really wish it was beacuse I have to drive 2-4 hours to get to something good which makes it tough to go midweek.

Yeah, Wawa is what it is. Not as big or varied as some of the stuff in southern VT, but for something semi-local to hit up on a weeknight, a pretty good value.

weekends, yes. Weeknights, not at all. I've never waited more than a minute or two for a chair on a weeknight

Yeah. It's not too bad. I rode it a bunch last season, but it's SO CROWDED on the weekends, like people mentioned. And there's no tree skiing.
We got around it by using this one lift they have that is halfway up the mountain. The only problem was that it was kinda slow... Thanks for sharing this, though. |

Oh god, that 1/2 lift is awful. Really, the mountain shines as someplace to hit on a weeknight and ride for a few hours. The lifts are near dead on those nights. And the discounts at other mountains for being a Wawa season pass holder make riding elsewhere on the weekends more affordable..

^ I have been to Wachusett during the week as well and their are often large school groups around for the early evening making it crowded then as well. Wachusett may be OK if you are very close and want to get some runs without having to drive too far.

You clearly have your experiences, I clearly have mine from having a season pass last year. Must have been the nights we both chose to go. Drive is 75 minutes or so for me and it's still worth it for midweek riding. There's a couple other places within the same distance for me open weeknights, but all smaller than Wawa. Southern VT is great, but very little in the way of night riding, so worth hitting on weekends or taking a day off to hit midweek days (and like I said, the discounts from the Wawa pass make those trips more affordable) For half of what a midweek Stratton or Okemo cost my brother last year, I found the Wawa pass more than worth my money.

For anyone considering this: Regular season passes just jumped in price. Group rates are still good for almost a month. Get it.

These passes are the best deal around. I get mine very year for 239 (non-group price) and if you go 6 times you make your money back. Great week night mountain untill it gets crowded

Wawa is where it is at for midweek riding, I can get easily 25 runs in, in a matter of 2hrs during midweek late morning.

Doing this same group again this year. Prices went up a bit ($10 on the cheaper passes, if I remember correctly) but otherwise group info is the same. Get some....

How is this helpful? But yea, I usually grab a bronze pass and head over after work a few times during the week or take the occasional "sick day". |

Gunda, no clue on the halfpipe, never seen one there and not really even sure where they'd fit it in.

I just came across the link below (amazing what you can find with google).
Sounds like there were plans for it but it was tabled due to eco concerns. http://www.wachusett.com/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=nocK%2FK4hetc%3D&tabid=128 |
