SUNDAY RIVER and early Maine riding

   Ok so me and a few friends were thinking about an early season trip, and have found out that Maine has some really early openings, in east coast terms. You can even see videos from Sunday river in Maine on YouTube dated in mid October. We want to plan a three day trip riding on a Mon,tues,wed..

I guess my question is has anyone been up there and specifically early season? We were thinking the mid or early November time frame..is it overly optimistic to anticipate them opening that early again? Also, I don't want it to be a one open trail kind of day. Any input would be appreciated.

	Unless you plan on booking something well in advance I'd try to play it by ear if they get dumped on early go for it. I called them a while back inquiring about their package ski/stay deals for early in the season. The lady was basically trying to talk me out of coming early for reasons of limited trails/lifts etc. Even if they are open early depending on how fast and hard winter hits they will have very limited trails/lifts (not even all their lodging is open early too I think she said).

	yeah they have a deal in which lodging and lift tickets are $59 if you order by october 15th I believe..but it is definitely a gamble to pay that early and hope there is snow on the first week or two of november, I'm all for waiting over a month less to go riding, but only one trail will get old quickly.
