Depends where you aplly to.
There are many different agencies. You should choose one, that is internationally approved. |

Resorts are always hiring instructors every fall. Hundreds of them.
Because the job sucks. It is the worst job on the hill. The pay sucks balls, and you have to sit around all day hoping to get work while everyone else is riding. Customer service skills are the most important part of being an instructor, and riding skills really don't matter much. Being the new guy, all your lessons will be with the little children. Certification is not required to teach. The training is provided by the ski school once you're hired. After you've trained for a year, you can begin taking the certification exams. |

If you have a friend who teaches at a local mountain, get them to refer you and find out the name of the Director of that sports school. Contact the Director directly to schedule your interview. Hurry up because it's probably hiring time right now and it's getting colder every day.

Try to avoid the real touristy places. Though you have a higher demand, and thus more co-workers, your stuck with alot of noobs who think they can pay their way to skill and that you'll be an ultimate master guru jedi or some crap It's quite annoying.

In Canada, a CASI Level 1 (lowest level) instructor can expect to get min. wage ~$10/hr plus gear discounts, free season pass, etc. |
