    Posted: Sep/27/2010 at 8:45am
ok so i have some misc quiksilver jacket its like fluro green and i couldnt find a photo of it but thats not really the point.

when i was in NZ i had a couple of problems and i was wondering if you guys have experienced these/have a fix.

1) it has no "skirt" or whatever, so i kept getting snow in between my pants and jacket and it was freezing!

2) there was no way to stop my sleeves sliding up past my gloves so my wrists froze!

please help! i dont want to freeze in canada next year!

buy a better jacket with a skirt and/or clips to connect to your pants. Same goes for the cuffs, get something long enough and that you can tighten. i have even seen some inner elastic cuffs as well.

If you really dont want to/dont have the money for a new jacket(which would be the best solution) i would say to wear a tight base layer(under armor, etc..) so that when you fall at least your bare skin will not be exposed.  And if you can find a cheap pair of nice gloves, get the type that go over your jacket on the outside and then you can tighten them down that way.

Find a base layer with wrist gators, tuck you shirt in and most importantly, man up......

My pants also have a Powder skirt, so that may solve the wet underwear problem (they are special blend toofers). As for the wrists, maybe using a cheap pair of wrist guards to keep the skin covered... or just buy a bigger jacket. There are a lot of nice boarding jackets on craigslist now if money is an issue.
Shop smart... Shop S-Mart.

you should be able to pick up a pair of cheap wrist gaiters that you can wear under your gloves from most shops. if you wanted to go make it completely snow proof (and don't mind some modification) then you could always stitch or velcro them onto the inside of the jacket sleeves
