anybody know of any resorts, including PNW, Colorado, Utah, Montana, and California that offers free lift tickets for your birthday?  I know Bear Mtn down in So Cal does, but last time i went (in mid Dec) conditions were horrible.

Tahoe would be fun, so would the PNW.  Preferably, Tahoe or PNW as I know some friends in the area, but open to all suggestions.  Thanks.

I think it's a common practice for all resorts, just bring your ID to the customer service window to claim your free lift ticket.

Never heard of that before atleast not on the East Coast.  A little unfair to those who don't have winter birthdays.

Maybe it's a west coast thing.  Yeah, it does suck for others but you have to go on your birthday which also sucks if you have work or school.  For minors to claim their birthday ticket, you have to bring a copy of their birth certificate.

did a quick google search...only found this:

"So why not treat yourself to a mountain around Lake Tahoe. If you're lucky enough to have your birthday during the winter, take your driver's license to the window at Homewood. You'll get a free lift ticket on your birthday. They're the only resort up there that offers that deal. "

That's from Feb 2010.

EDIT:  Found Diamond Peak also has this deal.

By only resort, I think they mean in the Tahoe area.  I talked to Big Bear so for sure they do it and I'm pretty sure Mammoth and Mt High does it too and maybe even Snow Valley.

Free birthday lift tickets isn't something that they really advertise and I didn't know about it until I saw someone thanked Big Bear for their free lift ticket and true they would get business anyways but it's a way to get even more business but people usually don't go alone so it's an excuse to go claim your free ticket and at the same time drag your buddies with you.

Yes - Bear
No - Mammoth
Yes - Mtn High

Didn't check Snow Valley, cause not interested to go there on my birthday.  Big smile

Anybody can correct me if I'm wrong.

Disneyland did this "free admission on your birthday" marketing promotion as well...I think it worked, as you said, bring your friends/family etc for them to pay.

And the free disneyland thing was only good in 2009.  Maybe they lost money?LOL

Did you google it?

It's basically a win for the resorts because there's such a high chance that the birthday person will be bringing other people to the mountain. Not to mention selling all of the overpriced food too. Kinda sucks that my b-day is in May. Oh well...Happy b-day to everyone in the winter time.

Wildcat in NH used to do this and they might still but I haven't checked recently. They are about 3 hours from me so it is tough to take advantage of that deal unless my birthday falls on weekend.

I usually go to snow summit on my birthday in January. I get the free ticket and drag one or more of my paying buddies with me, so I would say it's a win/win for me and snow summit.

I'm planning a Tahoe trip for my bday in February..can anyone confirm if Squaw or North Star offer this free lift for bday type of thing?? cause that'd be great if they do!!!! that's at least 90 bucks that i'll be saving!! if they do not, how about Mammoth?? personally, I'm hoping tahoe does though, I really loved it there..any info, I'd appreciate.

Homewood's free lift pass doesn't start at the beginning of the season. Last year, it started on 1/4. So, December B-days are out of luck.

I've gotten free lift tickets for Dec B-days at Mt. High in SoCal and Diamond Peak at Tahoe.
