Just saw a pic from Tahoe this morning and theyre getting snow aswell. Think it was 7-8000ft but still a great sight to see. Cannot wait for this season, going to be so much fun. Plus I want to really push my riding skills this year, got a lot of years to make up for.

All you jerks make me angry!  I live in west central Texas and it sure as heck aint going to snow anytime soon, and even if it snowed 6 feet of fresh pow, the darn ground is flat and covered in cactus so I'm not going to get to go snowboarding without leaving the state.  Can't wait for winter break baby!!!

It will be open by then but some years it is only man made snow (the white ribbon of death).  However, this is a promising start to the season so you may be in luck.

I'm not sure where you are getting your weather report but it is not suppose to snow all week up here. The best chance for snow is going to be this Friday and Saturday morning. Friday there is a chance for snow above 9,000 feet but it is just a chance. Most likely Friday snow will be at higher elevations. Saturday there is a chance for light accumulation down to the base of the resorts. If it snows at all before that it will either be from a snowgun or it will be at the highest elevations.

ya.  i saw a picture of this white ribbon in another thread.  I doubt I will drive 5 hours from LA for that... I'll be checking the snow reports a week or 2 before I go...
