we got 3 more feet last night.  2 more feet predicted in the next 2 days.  Ugh...talk about extremes - we're already past 500" for the season and we always get a dump or two in april as well Shocked

haden borrowed my gopro, this is from march 21.  captainryanfarrell is in here a bit too.

i can't figure out how to save in 960 HD, it keeps the video's aspect ratio at 3:4 when i save in 720 but it's 16:9 full frame so i have black on each side.  bummed cause the quality is so much better.  the definition and colors... poop.  there's just no option in my editor that i can find.

day 9 (march 26).  Forecast to be partly sunny with possible snow showers...WRONG!!!  Met with heavy snowing conditions at less than 3000 feet...and it kept snowing super heavy and cold all day.

It had also snowed all night before that, so there was already a foot and a half of fresh when I got to the resort.  By last chair, there was another foot+ on top of that.  Untracked tree runs, cliff drops...you know...same old shit.

Had a lens failure on my smith i/o.  Fogged up with "spots" in between the lenses.  Could be a defective lens...but I got a feeling porex is just too small to work in cold storm conditions.  Sending them in for warranty...we'll see (had to wear my old dorky looking, low-end, scratched smith cascades from 2005.  Felt like a kook...but zero fog)

forgot to get batteries for my camera, so I just borrowed a couple pics from the resort website:

day 10 (sunday, april 27).  Bluebird with 3 feet deep of fresh powder - very good conditions.

As you can guess, the resort got very crowded (most I've seen this season), so no warm ups...I headed right for the depths that I was sure would be ripped in a short time.  Tons of perfect fresh lines were had.  Even with that much snow, morning was shockingly fast - found myself having to speed check much more than usual.

As forecast, temps after lunch got just over 40 deg  - pow got a bit heavy and groomers got sticky (and didn't cool back down before the lifts closed)

Other than perfect pow runs, highlights of the day were:
   *  biggest, successful cliff drops of the season
   *  perfect BS3 right under the lift audience
   * what felt like the highest backside air/re-entry I've ever pulled on a side-hit/transition
   * perfect frontside alley-oop 360 on a similar trannie/qp
   * tons of big FS1's (my "new" trick)
...all on a 163 cm powder specific shape

After the cliff drops, had to keep reminding myself that I'm really not advanced at all...it's just everything is so filled in, the consequences were relatively minimal

no batteries/no pics...and the resort didn't even take any...on one of the better days of the year

Nice vid, try using the Deshaker tool for VirtualDub to get rid of some of that nasty digital camera shake, it works quite well.  It's a bit complicated, but you can watch a tutorial on Youtube and just follow all of the steps.

Thanks!  The one barking is my dog Cody.  The other guy you see is my friend's dog Bhodi.  He's still young and a bit of a spaz.  He hasn't quite figured it all out yet, but we're working on him.  He's also very, very fast.

Damn spenser.  That is a fine shtooking video.  Your friend is most definitely killing.  The chute at the end, is that in Washington or more like Alaska?  Where ever it is, that is just sick.

I am almost embarrassed following that with my VP vid, but it was a fun day with great conditions.  So you'll get it anyway.

i think the chute on the face (if that's what you're talking about) with the vertical exposure lines is montana, but most of that video is brighton and the surrounding area, with a couple shots up here like the tree ride backflip

2:55 is at Brighton isn't it?  I've been eying that thing.  It's a big bitch.   I'd love to do a switch back one off it some day.  I think JP half cab'ed it like 12 years ago or something.

probably, most of that video is brighton

glad you guys like it.  i'm way stoked that mark is getting so much footage and photos this year.  i worked with some of my reps last fall and helped him get out there on the path to... whatever he wants, i guess.  he's in with rome, union, 32, and vonzipper now.  the first three are brands he's been repping for years anyway so that's rad.

Hey spenser is that Mark Raineri?
not-ewrx that was some nice pow in that last video you posted. This last week was amazing at snowbird.
EDIT
nevermind I could have just read the video title.
Mark Rainery is pretty much a legend at brighton. It's pretty cool that you know him.

Nice vid Spenser!

Rode slush all this weekend.  My board caught a couple of times while going off jumps in the slush.  One time my nose caught when I landed and I went flipping forward.  Another time I was bringing my board around for a 1 and it caught and I went super man forward onto the landing.

Fun times...sad that the season is going to end soon.  My resort is open for one more week and then a mammoth trip the following weekend.

Ok legend wasn't the right word. He is definitely respected at brighton tho. Brightons website has a bunch of pictures of him and some videos on their website. One thing that you wouldn't be able to tell from the videos you have posted of him is that he is a pretty sick park rider also.

naw no bet...tried on a couple onesie suits and they didn't fit and the party bus was getting ready to roll from my house... i didn't want to be lame and not dress up so the teapot was my only option...  bus left my house at 11... i started drinking at 9... so i had a solid 3 hours of drinking in by the time we got to the mtn at noon...rode and continued to booze til 4 when i realized i probably shouldn't be riding anymore... so i headed down to the bar and partied until it was time for the bus to depart... i captain'd the shit outta closing day in my teapot suit...beat that.
