I was eagerly awaiting this to get my stoke on. Thanks Spenser, you never fail to disappoint. Or to create envy.
Tracey, hit me up when you're headed to Baker. It's my home mountain now! ;) |

Yeah....spenser.....every year, same shit......and every year (the past two I'm talkin') you make me so damn jealous, but then I remember I can live vicariously through you and my world seems better. Be afraid.
Davo! What's been up with you? Left WSU? Livin' in Seattle? Parents place still? whats the skinny? |

not yet. not sure whats up with it. i was gonna get it through a friend but havent gotten a clear answer.
im only going to use it on actual pow days, rather than a day like yesterday. personally i find it hard to watch a video with a bunch of regular riding where its all on a gopro on someones head. its just not exciting to me. hopefully i can find a good converter for windows so i can edit with it on my computer and combine gopro lines with the rest of my daily stuff.

shes not the seller, im just getting it through her.. not flaking either, i just dont know whats up.
i wont do my primary filming with anything that films in mac/quicktime and HD formats because its a pain in the ass to edit with those files on windows without really high end stuff. i really only want the gopro to do ridercams. i like using my powershot with the fisheye but its not as easy when you have to hold the camera, especially for "real" lines. i have a contour but the perspective with the gopro is sooo much better.

A converter for what? The issue I have is that I don't have a decent editing program. All I've got for now is MovieMaker. The GoPro videos work fine in it but my HD videos from my Canon handheld don't. Something with the file type I'm assuming. Anywho, it's annoying as hell cuz I can only use the fisheye videos, which, although they're kinda cool, it'd be much cooler to be able to use both types and change things up a bit. That and the effects and everything in MovieMaker are frickin' lame-o.
Any suggestions?

converting MOV files or whatever HD file it is to something i can edit on windows. my roomie has a new computer with windows 7 and adobe premier or whatever and he can do it, but i dont.
is your gopro HD or SD? what file format is it? id be getting the HD one so it definitely wont work with my program my powershots are still the ones that do AVI instead of MOV. i had an SD 780 IS for a day and then realized it was all MOV so i had to return it.

Mine is the SD, videos are AVI format. My Canon takes .MOV videos. I've also got Adobe Premier in part of my not-so-legit Adobe Suite, but I've never really messed with it. I did try it once with one of my HD .MOV videos and the computer was goin nuts. I think it had something to do with the fact that I was trying to fast forward like 8-10 minutes of video into a minute or less. That and I've never used a program quite that intense and I wanted to get a book or something for it so it wasn't so completely over my head right away.
Anywho, maybe I'll give it another shot and see how it goes. Two of my biggest dislikes about MovieMaker right now, aside from the sh!tty effects and stuff, are 1) you can't have two layers of video - like on your last video when you have the visuals of one video with the audio of another one over the top. I want that. and 2) I have to take my music from iTunes, burn it to a disc, then rip it into Windows MediaPlayer in order to use it as background for my MovieMaker projects. Gets to be a pain in the ass.

you can do that with movie maker, just drag the video clip to the audio line, same way it works in my editor now. ive done it many times.
for the music thing, check out switch. you can convert to a regular mp3 or wav or whatever. i assume it wont work because you bought your itunes music or something and its a locked format, which i run into occasionally and have to convert. really great, free, and easy |

Thanks for the tips, dude. I'll check into that the next time I put something together. Did a couple in the last two days and probably could've used that to my advantage.

Sick vid spenser. Wish I could get some riding on our local mountains but there's still nothing down here in Vancouver. Whistler's got some decent snow but it's much too far for me.

Damn, that's crazy, jaw surgery right? Finally getting invisalign, but decided surgery was a bit too extreme for my situation, that's cool you're enlisting, didn't know you had much interest in it, hope it all works out for you. Spenser, nice videos, wish someone else would start posting more so we could have more to oggle at, going crazy...and I don't know if Baker will be open in time for Thanksgiving break...snow dances everyone! |

day 4, mediocre but i knew it would be. there is still a good amount of snow up high.. feels/seems a bit deeper than last time.. but the snow line went way up on the lower part of the mountain. we hiked up a bit along the ridge trail and then dropped into east bowl. view from the top ![]() boy george ![]() |

Did anybody else read this as Third Reich?
Also, Spenser, did 'Blaster discontinue the split strap for this year? I got a pair of Hot Green airgogs and they have a solid strap, and didn't include a spare like in years past. Just wondering if you've noticed something similar.

Snowshoe is supposed to open Nov. 24th... supposed to. Their daily pictures still show snow, but after the warm weather over the last few days, dunno if they'll be able to make that deadline.

Went boarding this past Wednesday. Decided to take along the helmet cam for fun.
Nothing really special about the video except for the conditions. Apologies for the lazy editing, I was in a hurry to get something together that I could post. It was a fun day at A Basin... |

enjoyed the vid jerry.
Maybe you could get some more/bigger jumps in next time (ollie-launch that first run into the bowl )....or does the camera jar up? A 180 or more might look cool from riders perspective

Keep the updates coming spence. Im living my life out of everyone else's experience atm.
I can only dream to board as much as everyone else. I've only had 3days on the mountain in total and Im close to depression without it. Is it weird that im so hooked from just one go? :0...
