    Posted: Oct/08/2010 at 1:02pm

The Thuggie was born in Whistler, BC in 2009.

Noticing more and more people clad in hilariously oversized t-shirts, hoodies, snowboard jackets etc but without any apparent sense of humour, Bryan Pudney and three of his chums decided to make their own version of the overly long garment to mock these irony-lacking souls.

One fine spring day they hit the slopes in 4 long, large, brightly hued, yet unnamed hoodies. They expected a reaction but the reaction they got was one of appreciation, applause and even envy. No one got the joke, but Bryan got the point.

Fast forward to July when Bryan and 3 fine individuals wore the original 4 Thuggies to the 1st annual Vancouver Leisure Society Lawn Bowling Tournament. While everyone else was decked out in tight fitting tennis whites, Bryan and co smugly bowled in comfort, taking the league by storm. Kim Bowie was one of those envious souls however never one to sit idly by, she approached Bryan, awestruck, and begin mercilessly harassing him about the vision she had. Not long afterwards while coming home from work, it hit her. “We shall call it, the Thuggie!” Bryan was overjoyed and shared the news with his good friend, Brad. Business Brad shared the vision and there it was: the perfect trifecta. And that is how the Thuggie was born.

The Thuggie is the most comfortable garment you will ever put on.

It is pants optional, roomy, always flattering, always fits and never wrong for any occasion. Basically it is a lifestyle statement. It is Canadian borne and made and its wearers are among the most likeable people in all of the Western world.*

Unlike other semi ironic leisure apparel, the Thuggie equips the wearer with a sense of security, satisfaction, extreme comfort and a gentle sense of smugness. You are guaranteed to feel smug in this Thug.

You know...for Russia Canada is in the East. At the moment I think Canada is no Western Country myself...It's definitely in the East, close to Asia. Little bit too strange to accept.

Actually busted out laughing!  Startled to cat!  Oh, man!  Can't imagine wearing these, but it would certainly get the same reaction if I ever saw this on the mountain.

Good times!  Looks comfy though.

Weather, comply!

People buy snuggies....

I would buy one of these over a snuggie. It looks comfy, I wouldnt wear it out but I'd wear it around the house without pants for sure.

Its funny how your opinion just made Canada an eastern country. Can you teach me to have that power? And close to Asia? Yes i see, considering Canada is located directly above North America. Close to Asia...Canada may be located East of Russia from where you are sitting but that in no way makes it and Eastern Country.

Wow this made me realize how old I am. Man we were made fun of 20 years ago for sagging pants but this trend is Dead. when I see young punks with over sized t-shirts I want to pull it up over their head and roll them down the groomers. Plus it's usually freezing outside and they're wearing a sweatshirt with a over sized t-shirt over it, to show how core they are.

One day they will look back and realize how ridiculous they look, guaranteed.
Life is good
