This should be a great game tomorrow. The Boston Globe states that court side seats are going for $20,000.!!!

i think the fact that lebron can carry the cavs to 60+ win seasons would indicate that lebron+bosh+wade will do great things regardless of the rest of the roster.

at the point arroyo and chalmers will be fine given they really just have to defend/knock down shots

the 5 is obviously their biggest problem, hopefully Joel Anthony can improve, even though he is undersized hes quicker than a lot of centres going so that may work in his favour.

obviously Z will play limited minutes, but he was able to cope with most centres in the nba back at the cavs (noted he got fkn destroyed by howard in the 09 playoffs)

i think if lebron/wade can work it out their issues at the 5 arent going to matter, althought mike miller being out till january is a pretty heavy blow given that he was their best shooter.

see if house can step up i suppose?

I gotta admit, LeBron killed it with his new commercial. Whoever did this needs to be hired on his marketing staff immediately.

MOTHERFVKING YES!!

Love that ad, its spot on. LBJ doesn't owe anything to anybody. Haters gonna hate. LBJ's gonna take care of LBJ.

'I am not a role model.'

Also, fvking awesome that lebron james eats sprinkled donuts.

Is that how you two do it Sprinkles?  HGH infused, sprinkled donuts?

I definitely think the commercial was full of win.  Lets hope for his sake that he continues with this sort of media work.  My personal favorite was the Don Johnson cameo.

are you implying that LBJ is on roids? C'mon man, hes a black actor too.

I'm just tired of the massive amount of hatred lebron got. Seriously, the media attention was worse than tigers pimp pirade, or brett favre's cockpics. Why does this guy get so much grief for doing whats best for him. Said it before, and i'll say it again. shtook Cleveland.

because its the modern media in sports.  Like it or not, as an athlete you have to figure that crap into your public image etc if you are as concerned with things outside of basketball as LeBron is.

I was at a family function this weekend and talk turned to Gilbert Arenas and other athletes.  I pointed out that Charles Barkley once spit on an 8 year old girl during a game.  He also threw a man through a plate glass window.  I saw the Celtics and Pistons get into fistfights on the floor and there weren't even technical fouls called.  Media attention and public perception of athletes has changed a lot in the past 10 years.  I do agree its annoying, but its still something you have to consider.

I mean, I was half expecting Dennis Rodman to get naked in the middle of games back in the day.  You ever hear Charles Barkley tell the story about how he thought he got traded to LA one year, and started drinking in his apartment.  Then his agent called him up and told him the deal fell through and he had to get to the arena and play that night for Philly?  So he drives drunk to the arena, has a decent game, goes home and passes out.  He would have been suspended for a year in todays league and it would have made national headlines.

Media scrutiny in professional sports is at an all time high. Any big name player needs a PR company/rep running around for them or they are going to get roasted in the media. It is just how it works at the moment, and the more drama there is there more papers are sold.

Lebron isn't the smart one anyway, Wade is. Lets see:

1) convinced the best player in the NBA to come play in his house and for less money
2) convinced Bosh to come play 3rd string after he was making noise about wanting to be THE MAN at a club, and also take less money
3) managed to keep his image and rep in tact while he basically outsmarted everyone else and built a tri-all-star team which will be HIS TEAM.
4) Stayed where he was happy and avoids state taxes
5) Made a situation where everyone wants to join him and his friends and play for peanuts

In my books, Lebron got punked, but it was better than he could figure out for himself so his going along with it.

Man I don't care if Heat completely destroys the other competition (which it won't) as long as the Lakers don't get a three peat. I wouldn't hate the Lakers so much if it wasnt for Sasha being cocky. I wish they would trade him to like Minnesota so he gets smacked with a reality check that he actually suck balls. Go WARRIORS!

I still like what Bill Simmons said about the whole free agency thing.  I'm paraphrasing here but it was something like ''Dwayne Wade, 3 years of college.  Bosh, 1 year of college.  LeBron, no college.  The educated one convinced the stupid ones to take less money and less of a role.''

Wow so true. I hadn't thought of it that way at all. Dwade comes out looking like the good guy.

you guys make it sound like lebron is making peanuts. He's got a $110 million contract with Miami, 'less money' is relative, especially seeing how hes going to be paying less in taxes. And let's not even talk about what hes making in the endorsement deals. LBJ doesn't want money, he wants to win a championship. He should take 'less' money, bc hes going to miami, not wade coming to that shithole of a town cleveland, that never supported LBJ with a team that could seriously win a ring.

I look forward to the Miami vs Celtics game tonight, but being the first game it has potential to be ugly as they are shaking off a little rust and D-wade hasn't even really played with Lebron and Bosh yet

^^You called it.  I have never seen an uglier first half of basketball.  Miami scored 30 points and shot 27%.

The sprinkled donut is a shot a Barkley.

I like the ad, I just think it is weird nike would allow anything that might upset Jordan.

We just talked about that poem he uses in my lit class, I didn't catch that the first time.

That Lakers game was sweet.  Pau had another one of his sleeper games.  Goes pretty unnoticed but ended up with like 29 and 10 or something like that.  Shannon Brown had a great game too with a pretty amazing sequence in the 4th quarter.

Worked from home today and managed to watch both the Heat vs Celtics and Lakers vs Rockets live (I am in AUS), awesome games both of them, can't believe this is just game 1 of the season. Hopefully a sign of things to come

oops hit post before i finished

And the heat got beat down lol

I love how it looked like Lebron was still in Cleveland at times just in a diff uniform. I am sure they will click at some point but even then, boy does having no inside presence or post presence hurt you badly. And Boston didn't even have Perkins wow.... Dwight is going to beat up on these guy and the Lakers are going to as well.

I see them being the ultimate front running team.  They will dominate bad teams by 40 and lose to good teams.

Hahahaha, that Bill Simmons quote was pretty funny. The Heat tried to make it a game last night, but it was close to being a big blow out. Got the feeling Lebron was playing the "now its your turn to score D Wade" thing, should of took the game into his own hands in the 4th quarter.

I watched the Heat-Celtics game...good game. The Celtics showed they are still the top dog while the Heat showed they have a lot of gelling to do. The big 3 looked plain awkward at times... there wasn't a good flow to the game and you can they didn't know their teammates very well...thus the huge amount of turnovers by the big 3.

I didn't watch the Lakers game but from what I read on espn and at Clutchfans, it was a great game. Look out for the Rox this year, I was expecting them to be a 6-8 seed but now I can even see them fighting for home court advantage this year.

No, she gets a special cologne... It's called Sex Panther by Odeon. It's illegal in nine countries... Yep, it's made with bits of real panther, so you know it's good....They've done studies, you know. 60% of the time it works, every time.

it wasn't a buzzer beater though, just the go ahead 3 with about 20 secs left, last bucket of the game.  can't wait to see john wall in action.

Lakers seem to have better bench depth from what I saw last night. Blake & Brown played almost entire 4th qrt as they were very productive. Lamar played great... all did actually given Kobe's knee and bynum out. Cheers...
