looks like nobody is gonna play in china. i heard that china is making a rule that's gonna forbid teams from signing any players with an NBA opt out clause.

Well i'm sure you wouldn't be happy if all of a sudden your boss slash your salary. I agree that overall they are well paid and can even argue over paid but in the players point of view they obviously would not give up the money. |

True but theres a difference in quality between nba vs playing in china/euro and etc. Quality range from the actual competition to small things such as maybe staff, facilities and etc |

not to mention family and the fans. and i partially agree with the pay cut. sure it is another job. but most people who have jobs make enough money to support their families, mortgage, expenses, and rarely luxury. these players however seem to forget how lucky they are to be doing what they love as a job. their salaries more than cover a normal person's life plus luxury.

The relationship between basketball in china and American basketball, already strained due to the Chinese negative perception of David stern has now developed a bigger sense of mistrust after today's brawl between Georgetown and the Chinese team.

I saw the clip, pretty bad. I saw some chairs being thrown, some stomping and at one point looked like a full out ground and pound. The Chinese players just outnumber the gt players. Another reason why nba is a little better than overseas, security. |

Delonte West is looking into working at Home Depot during the lockout. He just wants to pay some bills, you know? Make enough cash to get by. Oh, and he has made $14 million in his NBA career.

C'mon R2, that's pretty harsh. Lonte has some serious mental illness issues and is one of those dudes that would probably end up homeless and on the street regardless of whether he has millions sitting in the bank or not. All joking about the rumored head-giving by Lebron's ma Gloria aside, I always liked Delonte's style (especially when he was paired with Jammer Nelson back in the day) and I hope he can get someone to direct and help him get things straight one of these days

I think most of the all-stars in bball would be in a much worse place in life if not for the pros. Let's just say most do not seem to have taken full advantage of their free college experiences. |

Sadly, it's been mentioned that a number of NBA players go from paycheck to paycheck. Obviously no numbers but it's true since there is stories on the news about retired NBA players going broke.

Antoine Walker is like $500k in debt to casinos, and he made a pile of money in his career. I can't even imagine blowing through millions like that.

Lets be honest a lot of these professional athletes are only good at playing sports and probably wont be able to handle a normal job well, so applying to home depot is no suprised.

^Paparazzi are such scumbags. Hopefully that guy doesn't get a dime, but unfortunately he will probably get some cash just to make the problem go away. And that will only make the guy, and other photographers like him, more likely to have run-ins with celebrities again.

ahhh nba2k12 is coming out in the next couple of months i think. They already showed the cover and concept of MJ bringing back his "friends" (magic, bird, etc) Not much to think about on the lockout right now, seems like they are so far apart. |

Yeah I'm curious how the regular season will be made...maybe automated or something. Despite the emphasis on the Legends portion, they haven't really explained improvements in the other aspects of the game.

maybe the first task is to get out of lockout? it'll become more of a managment game than actual bball .. like champion manager but nba instead..

Huh? NBA 2k12 is not designed like champion manager. They are not moving that drastically away from simulation gameplay. |

i think nba2k12 will still come out. unless the nba somehow has rights to the game. itll probably sell even better considering theres no progress on the lockout.
