I got my new board and did a hot wax on it over the weekend. But when I scraped it i used the side with the notch cut out and a put little scratched is the p-tex. Sux cuz it's my new ride. Is there away to buff these out? will these slow me down? will they go away after a ride a couple times? should i wax it again to try and fill them in? thanks

first of all, i would love to know how you scraped the wax because i can't imagine you can scratch the base that easy. second, the base of any board will get scratches over time which is normal and no, a scratch won't slow you down at all. i understand it's suck because it's your new board, but you will get over it over time because it's just normal.

btw, what board you got that scratch that easy, is that extruded base? if so, you will get much more later while you ride.

if you can scratch the sintered base while scraped off wax, you are doing it wrong.

Wax the board again so wax can get into the scratches and fill them up. Then with a new scraper scrap the wax off.

i always like using the metal scraper first and then the triangle.  just because the metal one takes off a lot.  or you can always take it to the shop.

Just use a plastic scraper and use some elbow grease. It's not worth it to use a metal scraper designed for p-tex work imho.

or and suggestion to chester, try getting a scraper that is wider than your board and scrape evenly and slowly. Oh and next time pay attention when you are working the edges, commonsense man.

If your get some nasty scratches then like the above mentioned comments, clean the base, ptex fill, let cool, use a planer to get the surface smooth again and then rewax and scrape CAREFULLY.
