Pavel Datsyuk. One of the top players in the league. Absolutley Dyanmic offensively, i believe led the league in take aways the last two years (i may be wrong there, but im pretty sure.) |

I agree, other than maybe the two-way beasts of Datsyuk or Zetterberg (see: stanley cup winners), there are very few players that light it up like Crosby and still play mean defense. Maybe Patrice Bergeron as well? The best thing about Crosby is that he forces the other team to NOT use their best offense when he's on, because he will destroy you and keep the play in your end.

Pronger did for sure (win the WJC), and so did Al Mo (the WJC), Didn't know he didn't dress in the olympics..... thats a good piece of triva....
and P.S. don't tell paul henderson you think GWGs mean nothing..... he has lived his whole life off one goal 30+ years ago.....haha

Crosby is faster, stronger and a better passer........ Daytsuk has the dangles, and the defence... covered..... |

I respectively disagree, well except for maybe strength. Oh well, good little afternoon debate on this grey-bird day here. In all honesty there is no real correct answer. |

ovenchicken was just for you ![]() I grew to have a lot more respect for Ovie during 24/7 until the last episode when he referred to Pittsburgh as "shitsburgh". I've never heard a Penguin disrespect an entire city of people........with the exception of Philly and they deserve every bit of it, that's all. I also think the 'Sid's a whiner" has gotten seriously old. People grow up and I think he's demonstrated as such. There's plenty of video out there of other players cryin to the refs too. Including the great 8 ![]() |

Pens only a few points behind the Flyers. Still could get the conference with a little bit of luck. Keeping my fingers crossed. Not too bad without their big names Crosby and Malkin.

i respect that, especially the philly part but back to end of the season...caps almost blew a big lead against the fliers, without the leadership of the great 8, but they held in there to clinch a playoff spot, thanks to all the players i listed before its going to be a tough but exciting finish for these final games for everyone one....i really dont see the east teams changing too much, just position of teams...however the west is going to be an exciting finish for which teams can make it in

Im just hoping the Caps can get past the first round this year. DC fans don't have much to look forward to in sports except for the capitals. Town of losing teams.

The way the caps have been playing and with ovie coming back from a week to two week rest at the start of the playoffs...there shouldnt be a first round knock-out and we should make a strong run in the playoffs, and hopefully to the stanley cup...this isnt the same team as last year, that was over confident and focused purely on offense and one style of attack that cant adjust under pressure situations only about 2-2.5 more weeks till NHL playoffs...cant wait

I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Boston DESTROY Montreal last night.
They are probably going to play each other in the first round, what a great series that will be if it happens

A third straight shoot out win for the Pens and only a few points out of the lead from the Flyers! With a few games left in the race, the Pens are making a run for #1. Can't wait for Tuesday's game against the Flyers. Its going to be an amazing game!

Wings lost in OT tonight against the Blackhawks. They're really missing Datsyuk who has been out with an injury for 5 games.

big game tonight against between Pens (who are heating up) and Flyers (who are kinda playing like the caps did last season at the end, which isnt a good sign for them so far), you win and the caps win (who have ovi and arnott possibly coming back!!) we will have a 3 way tie for 1st...granted the Flyers have a higher ROW than both and have played one less game than both teams as well
BUT its making an exciting ending of the regular season, making an even higher anticipation for the playoffs...cant wait |

Another shutout for Timmy Thomas last night! You have to be scared of the Bruins this year. They didn't need it last night against the Hawks, but he can steal them some games on his own.

Crawford will have to do it on his own. Turco sucks and the D is not what it was. I don't see the hawks pulling it off this year |

Fluery didn't have his best game last night and the D left a few too many Flyers open down low. Considering the first round usually has the biggest upsets I'm fine with the Pens heading into the playoffs at #4 against Tampa. Caps should do their best to take the top spot from Philly as a matchup with the Rangers wouldn't seem to desirable for them.
oh by the way - Crosby cleared to participate practice with team!

Another big win for Boston last night, they are beating some really good teams lately.
Pretty sad about the Savard memory loss issues though, i think he's probably done as a player. Matt Cooke can go to hell

As much as i hate Crosby i will say concussions are very serious and you can't rag on a guy for being out while recovering. Come back to soon and take one to the head and that could mean death. |

Beleive me, i am not a fan of Crosby or the NHL. I am so sick of them shoving Crosby down everyone's throat its disgusting. But none the less, even with not being a fan of Crosby i can respect the fact he had a serious concussion and needs/needed to sit out to fully recover. Come back to soon from that type of injury and it could be career or life ending. My judgment of you on this topic comes from your inability to empathize with such an injury just because of who suffered it. I bet if Datsyuk or Zetterberg had a serious concussion and had to sit out for an extended period you would not be saying he has a yeast infection... |

I see. You are just another member of the tin foil hat wearing conspiracy theorists in Detroit. And here I thought you were just another "too-cool 20-something year old passing judgement on everyone in a snowboard forum", that based on your comments above, is clearly not beyond that juvenile crap. |

Wouldn't you take time off knowing your team was going to the playoffs? He'll come back ready for the playoffs. Yes, it is kinda rediculous that he hasn't played for so long, but personal health is the most important thing. Tell you what, you really don't think that it bothers him? The kid was raised to play hockey, and to sit out for almost all the season is probably eating him up inside.

Seriously tough break for the Kings...losing their number one goal scorer and then a few games later losing their best player...that team was built for the playoffs too...I really was hoping for a good run.

Its all bout the Red Wings no matter what they fight through it. Hell we lost our starting goalie for a few games and out back up is hurt till end of the season but when we play those 2 new goalies the entire NHL world goes ape crap saying the wings arent good. We had 2 goalies that rarely see ice time in the NHL and we get slammed, but yet not one person in Detroit will down talk them because they know whats going on and where we go and Detroit is know for being harsh on goalies.

ya too bad your rangers got beat badly last night by the islanders...idk what happened to the rangers but they were looking dangerous for a while, now they are cooling off
my caps got a nice win last night, good to see Arnott and Ovie back in the line-up...next game against buffalo will be a good one, could be a nice taste of things to come playoffs |

If Montoya would have been drafted to any other team to get a chance he would be an all-star goalie already. HE got the shaft being behind Lundquist in NYR, who IMHO is one of the most over-rated tenders of the the last 10 years, and then Bryzgalloff (sp?), who really other than putting up decent numbers hasn't done crap It is no surprise to me he is dominating right now. |
