the best "how to" snowboard instruction available, imo. Step-by-step and very technically explained.
I studied the one on 360s and made my first 360 the very next day (and I thought I'd never even attempt that trick). It also made me able to land 180s about 99% more consistently. |

These videos look really well made. It looks like a lot of research and effort were put into the production.

yeah, whatever...when I did 180s before, I didn't really have much technique in mind. I just kinda did them and would ride away half the time. Once I learned how to methodically approach whatever I was going to jump off, I started landing them almost all the time...and, of course, that led to going bigger.
360s are the same, except you have to wind up more and turn your head all the way around toward the spot you wanna land (as opposed to backside 180s, where you actually land looking backwards...and frontside 180s, you don't move your head at all). 360 also takes a little more commitment because it's scarier, even thought you're actually landing regular stance (as opposed to switch on a 180). I learned all this stuff from the SA video. |

I have these videos on my iphone and was just watching one this morning!! Seriously, the entire series is great. If you've seen Doug's how-to vids on here, in comparison these vids are more indepth and teach more than just the simple basics. For the people that are financially challenged...you can sign up for free Snowboard Addiction advertisements that can be up to 25% off. That's what actually got me to fork over the cash. I was skeptical before I bought them...now I can't imagine if I had never bought it. I've progressed further than most of the people I ride with...and they've been riding for 10+ years and I'm just on my second year.

I don't really think you can learn from videos. It helps to get tips but it's really more practice you need.

I ordered the DVD's yesterday. You get a free six month update subscription, which has some videos available for downloading. They currently have board set up, buttering basic and advanced, and back country safety. Shipping to the US is expensive at about $16.50, guess they have all that frozen tundra to cross. SBA10 works as a 10% discount code.

its not just the videos that are great, he includes manuals that describe each trick in more detail. as well as mp3 for each trick that you can bring up to the slopes to review the trick. its a legit deal.

@ Mech9t5: videos can make you better at snowboarding, and here's why- executing a snowboard trick takes a great deal of mental focus and visualization. If you watch an instructional video that gives you better insight on how to approach and prepare for a trick and you apply this information while you're riding, then you automatically become a better rider (at least in terms of freestyle ability). Obviously most people aren't going to watch the video and be able to go out and land a 720 first try or something like that, but watching the video's can have a very positive effect on riding ability and advancement.

the video set starts all the way from basic beginning to advanced
i dont have the beginner section so cant really comment on it too much they have noted it is very different style of learning to the ones that normally teach on the mountain think of this way....it cheaper than having a 3 hour lesson on the mountain well in australia anyway |

I just downloaded the buttering vids and now i can't wait to try the moves out. The instructions were great and shows step by step how to progress into the next trick. Another thing is that I had a problem with logging on as a subscriber to their website and they fixed it the same day. I was surprised because I thought it would take at least a couple of days for them to get back to me. They've been awesome!!

if you've purchased the set and watched all their videos. you can tell as time goes by the quality, editing, and style of presentation keeps getting better with each video.
i just finished watching all the vids again since the season is getting closer and it's got me pretty pumped. i really like the intro to jumping - front 1's - back 1's etc videos.
