There aren't even great deals anymore on Black Friday, it has turned into a goofy holiday where people get overexcited and buy an average deal

How about we just commission Hallmark to invent a brand new holiday?

HAHAHA!! That's awesome. There should be national snowboarder day where all boarders get free lift tickets at any resort, or coffee day, something like that.

There are really good deals they're just limited to the first five so you don't know until after you've paid full price that you just got ripped off

Yes, last year they had different sales for black friday / cyber monday. With cyber monday being the better half of it all. Idk I remember it being big hype last year about cyber monday. I hope they don't disappoint.

the only ones that really save are those that line up outside a store the day before to get a crazy tv deal

It's true, Black Friday has really lost its luster in the past few years.  It's to the point now where people are grasping at non-deals because it's tradition and they're "supposed to" on that day. The few doorbusters that are really good deals are unattainable without ridiculous effort, and really are only worthwhile if you enjoy the camp-out experience (ie. you're crazy). Cyber Monday has surpassed it, but it doesn't require the fighting crowds etc.

isn't that the truth.  I'm sick of reading how this is only 38% off instead of 50% and the new gear that's been out for 4 hours isn't 35% off yet.

very true...in recent years people just get crazier...i remember when i first started going to these...now you line up at like 9pm just to get the doorbuster deals...

not to mention all the crap that happens with it...like people who are just jerks or try to cut the line.

I hope TruSnow have some awesome sale.  I need some new gear and my current bankroll can't handle it.  Other than snowboarding gears, there's always good technology deals online.  I don't ever go to B&M anymore.  Whoever has time and energy to invest in deals that you will get only if you camp out two days prior?

For one, don't be so quick to dismiss natural selection at its best!  Big smile

Second, don't forget the added tradition and pleasure of getting up at 3am and stand in line from 4am to save $10 on something.

some retailers, like best buy, have the same sales in store and online. you can just go on their website after midnite thanksgiving day and order what you want instead of waiting in line in the cold and may or may not get what you want. they don't even wait until cyber monday any more.

they're not going to just move the date. Black friday represents a color code system that retailers use to measure which part of the season they are in sales wise. The day after thanksgiving marks the first day that retailers begin to expect sales to peak for the year. This is when stores put sales on old merchandise to make way for new merchandise. Being that the holiday seasons have begin, this is what marks black friday for the US. Other countries have it different though. Like I know Canada has boxing day which is the day after christmas? or was it new years?
