That kinda pisses me off. I know that they added more points for reviews but when I made an account I assumed that I would be getting that discount forever. It just doesn't seem right for tru snow to just change the rules. And they didn't even notify us they probably just hoped that we wouldn't realize it.

I'm pretty sure even back in Sierra's day their program said they reserved the right to change or suspend the program without notice.

Just be happy you're getting the discount in the first place.  They could have just got rid of the points system.

it was actually sierra who was changing, or better yet, breaking rules to offer those discounts... trusnow will discount what they can within their contracts with the manufacturers. that just how these things work

changed with trusnow because when they switched over, they wanted to honor their contracts with manufacturers that restricted the amount of discounts allowed on certain items and products. I'm pretty sure not ALL are the same and so some products may be put on sale eventually. Just got to wait

Getting a range of discounts on some of the items is better than none at all right? Half empty outlook :)

i disagree.  they have said they will be continuing to sell products with the sierra brand... tshirts, bags, boards are still available for purchase.  I wouldn't call that dead.

Looking at the prices on Burton bindings, I think TruSnow is currently charging more than my local shop. That doesn't make sense. I would like to see some more Sierra branded stuff at reasonable prices, not more overpriced brand names.

i assume what youre suggesting is that because the sierra brand continues to exist, then sierra isnt dead. Which is of course correct. Whereas what i am suggesting is that sierra as the business controlling the pricing on its products as well as its inventory, no longer exists. Which is also correct.

There we go. Any possible misunderstandings hopefully lain to rest :)

Curious as to why the discounts seem to exists on items that are already on sale and not any of the full priced items.

me too.  i'm really gonna miss being able to afford brands i normally couldn't.   r.i.p. sierra and good deals.   i'm sure sierra at least covered their costs when they discounted stuff in the past, so why should it matter to the manufactures and vendors what sierra sells the product for?  i'm sure they got their money.   man.s and vendors controling the prices so we have to buy at regular shop costs no matter where we go for the product.

I'm just pissed I didn't buy all of the gear that I wanted before the company changing hands. It does make sense though that the 2011 gear won't have the member discount applied. If anyone is still looking for a small discount on 2011 gear, REI still offers their 10% membership discount on all full priced merchandise. I know that they don't have nearly the same stuff...I'm just throwing out the suggestion.

This topic has been beaten to death.  It has been discussed for weeks now.  It is the manufacturers who took away your discount not Trusnow.  Trusnow is just honoring the contracts they have with manufacturers.  If you want more info on this read one of the roughly gazillion threads this has been discussed in.
