haha, thanks!  edited.

fyi...I don't know how to set up this poll in an efficient way so you can get both where and when in the poll at one time, so I just set it up for multiple votes.  So, pick a date, then "cast my vote."  Then a location, then "cast my vote."

2nd week of december in bear.

A lot of us have passes at mt high so we can randomly meet there anytime.  If we're going to put the effort, than bear it is.

yeah, my mt high season pass is already collecting dust..it's getting colder now so hopefully they'll start blasting the guns up in high..

I like that other dude's idea..about going to each one! that'd be awesome..although I never experienced Baldy before..won't oppose to it of course..

looks like they started making snow up at high

baldy is really nice after a storm but any other days....can't really comment on that but their lifts are so old school and scary when the wind blows

Squaw is one of the funnest places I have rode in California but if your looking for terrain parks go to Northstar At Tahoe. They have the coolest parks, Rails make out of fake trees and a cool house jump. Its called The Stash by Burton.

Baldy is going to suck in Dec.  Baldy, honestly is only good when there's fresh pow.  When it dumps, I am more than happy to drive 2 1/2 hours to Baldy over 6+ to Mammoth any day.

The only thing that sucks about Baldy is no real maintained park.  It's mainly all-mtn and natural terrain jibbing.  It's still fun!  If you've been to June Mtn (20 min north of Mammoth) you'll like Baldy.

So, we'll save Baldy for a Jan or Feb meet up....more likely a 1 day notice trip.

I'm definitely in, regardless..just give me heads up that way I can request a day off or something..I'm off on Mondays! not that I'm suggesting for you guys to change the schedule for me..lol..but yeah, just so you guys know! haha..plus!! Ride you're right, going there on a weekend is somewhat of a hustle..crowded and all..weekday is better.

do you guys hit the East or West in high?? I've only been on east twice..most of the time me and friends hit up west since it's more "user friendly"..less A holes over there too..how good are you guys? I'm just average..cruise that's all..hit the park every now and then but just the little baby jumps and boxes..lol.

Mt High since I have a pass there I don't like driving that windy ass road to Bear...unless if you give me a ride.

I saw the weather forecast on the news this morning...supposed to rain here on Sat.  I wanna head up to Mammoth, but if that doesn't work out, what about this weekend at High?  Do you think it's going to be a zoo?

Was it a zoo this past weekend for those who went?

Some cheaper Mt High tix:
http://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/tix/2060892163.html
http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/tix/2059336939.html

This one is interesting...
http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/tix/2057721143.html

phuck man...ppl are trying to sell mid-week tix that they got free from snow jam (ski and snowboard convention) for $35-$40.  I'll check Sports Chalet and K5 that sell discount tickets as well.  Didn't Ralphs or Vons offer discount tickets also?

Did you google it?

thanksgiving weekend sounds pretty good.  possibility of it snowing early next week.

but if the whole mountain doesnt open, would it be worth it for us to meet up and take runs? i think itd be worth your guys (ppl without pass) money to wait until the entire mt. is open

Early december when most of the mountain is hopefully open.  Or sometime in January, after the holidays to avoid the crowds.

Either way, you need to give people some notice if you guys want a bigger turnout.

Hard to imagine I grew up on Baldy and went to Upland High School considering I joined the Marine Corps in 1984 and haven;t been back since.

I would love to get my hands on an In & Out Burger and shred that place one last time.

But opening day was reserved for Mt High for me...with some beautiful sunny tips locally grown.

Pulled from the 2011 official winter weather discussion...might just do something local instead of fighting the weather trying to get into Mammoth...

"

THE MAIN PORTION OF THE SYSTEM WILL MOVE THROUGH NORTHERN CALIFORNIA OVER THE WEEKEND BRINGING PRECIPITATION AND LOWERING SNOW LEVELS. SNOW LEVELS ARE FORECAST TO LOWER TO AROUND 2000 TO 3000 FEET LATER SATURDAY INTO SUNDAY WITH THE LIKELIHOOD OF SIGNIFICANT ACCUMULATING SNOWFALL OVER THE WEST SLOPES OF THE NORTHERN SIERRA NEVADA AND OVER THE NORTHERN MOUNTAINS.

RESIDENTS OF THE MOUNTAINS AND HIGHER FOOTHILL ELEVATIONS... AND ANYONE PLANNING TRAVEL TO THE AREA THIS WEEKEND SHOULD MONITOR THE LATEST WEATHER FORECASTS AND PREPARE FOR HAZARDOUS WINTER WEATHER THIS WEEKEND."

Mt High this weekend?  Anybody?

I would prefer Bear/Snow Summit because it's closer than Mammoth and way better than Mt High.

Does anyone know when Bear opens?

From their website:
"Well we had some good snowmaking weather last week and then it vanished!  There looks like there could be another snowmaking window late this week into next so cross your fingers for Bear to open soon! Park Staff is still working looooong hours to get the mountain ready for you. In fact the new SkullCandy feature, which by the way- plays its own tunes, will be placed on the mountain sometime this week.  It won’t be long before you’ll be riding Bear, but until then you can hit the features on Miracle Mile at Summit. Tickets are at a discounted rate and your Bear Only season pass is valid at Snow Summit right now!"

http://www.bearmountain.com/snowboard/

It's possible if that cold weather from AK comes all the way down to so cal this weekend as forecasted, it's possible it might open next week, given that it stays cold enough.
