My pants are fixed!  It only took them 3 weeks to repair it LOL  I'm going to take my jacket in tomorrow and ask that they patch up a hole from a zipper hitting it.

Back from Mt High...it was so slushy today.  Such a huge difference from 2 weeks ago when we had that storm.

I give them a month before they close.

And I got a bruise from falling on a box today LOL

I can't just up and go to NZ though I have decided I'm going back next year. Just got to bide my time before the snow falls again.

Yeah...those crickets were everywhere!  I took the pants back to Volcom and the guy there was like...yeah...this material is not working out for you, we're going to let you pick out another pant from next year's stuff.

So now I need to figure out what color combo I should go with again.

That's awesome!  Make sure you size up so crickets don't eat your your butt.  Sounds like you're going with Volcom again?

Make sure it's bright, so lookers who call you out on the lift can see you pull rodeos off the 30ft.

Yeah sizing up on the next pants I get...

Of course it has to be bright!  People have to see me coming down the hill.  I don't want people to miss my awesome scorpions.

It was free that one day when they got that dump in October 2 years ago.  And then all that snow melted and they had to close again to reopen in November.

That free opening day was a clusterfuck...4500 people on one trail if I recall. The liftline went a couple hundred feet back. I think I got 3 runs in that day. I ain't doing that again. LOL

So glad I didn't join one of my buddies who was so stoked to get such an early start to the season. When we finally found a day (very late in the season) to shred together, his account sounded spot on w/ these descriptions. I could not fathom how brought down & Censored I would have felt making that trip from the Bay.

Btw, hana, I dig your blog. Can't wait to see y'all in action on the off-season jib.Cool

Dude, we left Orange County at midnight, arrived around 5:30am, slept for an hour and a half, got our free lift pass, spent the rest of the day in line, then drove back to OC arriving by midnight. And I said to myself, "I am never doing that ever again." Ouch

Yeah it's really sketch going down that ramp.  So we're rethinking the design.

Like #11 suggested, y'all gotta find some cheap or scrap foam. Asphalt != snow Ouch

Yeah it's really sketch going down that ramp.  So we're rethinking the design.

how can you re-design it?  you would have to tear it down or build a new one?  Or chop off 1ft from the top, so the drop in isn't 90° down.
Did you google it?

That...yeah I told my friend the drop in is way way too steep, but he didn't think so.  Now he's more open to having a mellower transition because you can see I lose all my speed when I get off the ramp and onto the ground.

you could chop the top off about a ft and extend your entry out at that degree...maybe entry would be around 70° instead of 90°.  It wouldn't be so sketchy...although it looks like you did just fine.  Maybe some others would crack their head though.

The entry is around 65 when we measured it...so we're thinking of bringing it down to 45.  Also the platform is 2ftx2ft which is pretty sketchy to strap into while you're up there.

Yeah my friend got this from transworld and he said the height of the ladder was 5ft, but he made it 6ft instead...so I was like that's prob what it was.  You extended it a foot taller but kept the run in ramp the same length.  We get enough speed...it's just we're not carrying it through at the bottom.

Wow, this thread hasn't been updated in a long time.

Is everyone still here? I've been gone for a while, new job.

How many days does everyone have?

I only have 3 days so far...Mammoth during Thanksgiving.

Been more into rifles than snowboarding lately...shooting AR's and a Remy 700 .308 at the range. But maybe I need to scratch that snowboarding itch. LOL

Bumpin' this back up b/c I'm stoked that it'll actually be worth heading up to the mtns by Monday. This will be the latest start to my season ever! Hopefully, I'll have beaten back this stomach bug I caught a day or so ago. Hooray for snow!
