And there is a fairly decent storm coming!!!

http://tahoeweatherdiscussion.com/

looks like 2 feet is a pretty safe bet and there can be some serious snow if the storm his right into Lake Tahoe.  I'm bringing my new pow board just in case :)

The one bummer is the day-time temps are a bit high from what I'm reading, but we'll see.

Im trying to go to Boreal this sunday also, but Im worried about the car situation. Do you guys think there will be chains required to Boreal or do you think Cal Trans would plow it this early?

chains will be needed through Wednesday morning, methinks.  Going to be a pretty major storm.  Caltrans was moving the plows in, but I'll bet you about anything you'll still need chains, which you should have anyways if your in a 2wd and going to the mountains.  No one wants to be stuck in a jam because you thought you could make it.

Where are you flying in? Rent a car from the airport, it's usually the cheapest. Other than that, look at Hotwire for the cheapest rooms.

I can't wait to come back to Tahoe this season, especially since Northstar and Heavenly are both included on the Colorado Epic pass now. (Plus Sierra at Tahoe).

Hey guys, so I'm getting the triple whammy for this season too and was going to be spending some time up yonder shredding with a buddy between January 2nd and the 9th but I just found out he's leaving 5 days earlier than I thought he was, so I'm trying to find other people to ride with at Northstar, Sierra, and Heavenly. If it wouldnt be too much trouble floor space would also be massively appreciated.

But all I'm really looking for is a couple people to ride with

thanks guys

I was just up at Northstar yesterday, they closed the lift for the park run.  Wind was crazy.  Powder was heavy and wet...

I had a great time!  I need better waterproof pants though, and just ordered some from Trusnow today.

Can't believe the price went up on the season pass!  Ouch

More resorts = added cost.... that's pretty logical.

@FiveFlat:  It's too bad you didn't get to stay an extra couple days.

Monday was cool.... but...
Tuesday was amazing!
