haha i got this email today telling me to go and claim this 12 million dollars a deceased arabian man left behind, and that i should claim it only if i have a "healthy bank account", so i can deposit the $ without raising suspicion.. does he seriously think people fall for these anymore?LOL here's the email.. i have an urge to get him somehow, like giving him the info of a completely made up person

Dear Sir / Madam,
Please let this business proposal I am putting forward to you herein not be a
surprise to you. I know you will ponder on how I got your Contact and why you.
I got your email address while searching for a Business minded person who I
can transact a discreet business that I want to introduce herein to you.
Before I continue, I  am Barrister Arch James  Legal practitioner in the
United Kingdom.
I had a client  Al Yadah Fayad (British Arab) Diseased  who died in a Car
crash with his wife Rakiya Fayad  and two children  in the city of Manchester
in 2004.  six years ago.
Before the death of  Al Yadah  and his family, he had an account with a Bank
here in the UK (To be disclosed when Due)  with the amount of   £12.4Million
(Twelve Million, four hundred thousand  Great British Pound).
Al Yadah Fayad  was a Gold Merchant who also invested much in Oil during the
Gulf War. He was an Arab millionaire. Originally from Kuwait.
Since his death, as the Family attorney, the Bank concern have instructed me
to present a next of  kin to late Al Yadah as I am in the Position to know his
relatives because in the Banks record, Al Yadah’s next of kin is his Late wife
Rakiya. I have tried to locate his family members but to no avail and no one
has come forward to me that he or she is related to him.
As you may know, I cannot present my self because the Bank will not accept as
I am the family Attorney but who else I may present will be accepted.
At this Juncture, I have no option than to look for a Trust Worthy person to
present to the Bank so that the Bank can payout the  £12.4million to him or
her.  As I have nothing to gain leaving the money in the Bank.
Based on this, I decide to contact you so that I can  present you to the Bank
and get the money pay out to you then we can share the money  50% for you, 40%
for me and 10% to cover any incidental expenses that you and me may incur in
the process of the money being transferred to your account.
Please this deal is a 100% risk free and simple but confidential. I will put
all the legal documents together for the fund to be transferred to your
account with no legal implications.
Please if this is acceptable to you, Kindly get back to me with your Full
Names, Telephone numbers, and Physical address but if you know that your Bank
account is not healthy enough to receive such fund, please you may turn me
down by not responding because we need  someone who has a healthy Bank account
that receiving such money will not raise an eye brow.
Waiting to hear from you.
Thank you very much
Barrister  Arch James

You should mess with him and pretend you're totally falling for it but you're having issues sending the money and what not.

Wow, that is hilarious.  I love the fact that Al Yadah Fayad is diseased rather than deceased.  When the money comes through, make sure you update all your gear from here LOL

I got a message similar to this about 2 years ago regarding a very high prestiged lawyer from Africa. I did not respond to it as it seemed rather fake to me, but I think yours might actually be legitimate. What's the email address that you got this message from? And if they start asking you for any personal information, request to like video chat with him/her and show you around his place (if he really is the high practitioner lawyer person of whatever). All of this might sound stupid, but it could keep you from getting scammed. There's no risk in asking for proof, but there is risk in accepting what one says is truth.

Sadly, as ridiculous as it may sound, there are folks that fall for that kind of thing.  To "get back" at these scammers or just have a little fun, some people play little games with the scammers when they receive such an email.  http://www.419baiter.com/ is one such site where people brag about what they've done.

What world do we live in where 12 million in pounds is not going to raise suspicion regardless of who you are?  Give me a break.

It would be hilarious to view the bank account if this fantasy actually transpired.

Deposit 300 pounds
Deposit 3834.85 pounds
Withdrawal 39.96
Withdrawal 125.43
Deposit 12,000,000 pounds
Deposit 600 pounds
Withdrawal 2433.33 pounds

Bank Representative A: Hey Bob anything look fishy to you on this ledger?
Bank Representative B: Hmmm, let me take a look. Um no I can't see a thing.  Why do you ask?
Bank Representative A: No reason.  Something just doesn't feel right but I can't put my finger on it. Oh well you want to grab a beer after work?

I've gotten something similar to that in the past. For anyone that actually considers it legit, they need to take a look at where the email address came from and where it was sent to. Most of the time, you can tell that it is a scam if it says that it was sent to "undisclosed recipients"

It looks like a scam since he wants your name and physical address so he can hunt you down if you start to piss him off or don't follow his demands!

I would just send the dude random info to screw with his mind.

Hello Mr. james (or should i call you Arch?)
I am so sorry for a not-so-immediate reply. My name is Erin Reedsburg, and i am glad that you chose me for getting the 12.4 million pounds. I am not poor but anyone could use a little more  money. Now obviously I will have to fly over to England for you to present me to the bank, is that right? Umm... This migth sound strange, but I'll be straight forward with it. I am interested in starting a committed relationship with you once we meet, as I have been looking for a man  of accomplishment, and you are a lawyer. The fact that you are British further attracts me. I have always dreamed of living in Europe. My adress is 141 upper canada dr, toronto, ontario, Canada. What's your number? I would like to call you, we can learn more about each other on the phone. And can you send me some pictures of yourself? Pictures always help ;) Sorry for the blurry pic of me that I attached, it was taken from a phone. Hope you like the looks of me!
Looking forward to your reply!
Erin :)

haha the adress i gave him is supposedly another house down my street, but that 141 doesn't existTongue

edit: i forgot to say, i picked erin for the name because it's unisex, i plan to reveal that i'm not a female LOL

stupid scams have been hitting japan a lot more recently.

It shows up all over yahoo auction... Annoying thing is the scammers are so lazy(ok scammers are inherently lazy but...) that they don't even bother translating it so it's a garbled English paragraph. The Japanese sellers are left responding with their own garbled English sentence saying, "Money pay first thank you"

Honestly, how can you even begin to take something like this seriously? All 3 of these repsonses indicate that they all had to think at some point in time that it was in fact legit.  If I got something like this in my email it'd be in the trash faster than Grandpa Favre got hurt (again...) in today's game.
