    Posted: Dec/06/2010 at 2:09pm
So I finally popped the question to my girl while we were snowboarding today.  She had no idea it was coming and I got a great reaction, some tears, and a yes.  Anyone else propose on the mountain, or know someone who has?  The conditions were perfect at Copper today too so it made a great day even better.

congratulations man!!  totally perfect to propose on the mountain, that way when she says no you can just shove her off the cliff and nobody will find her!!

totally kidding.  but on a more serious note, it's awesome that you and the fiance share the joy of riding to the point that you can pop the question on the mountain.  my GF rides a little bit, but usually she's in a bad enough mood I can't even ask her if she wants to try a harder run without getting the EVIL STARE.  popping THAT kind of a question would not go down well AT ALL LOL

Thansk for all the well wishes.  I made her give me the ring back immediately and told her she couldn't have it until we got back to the car haha.  No snowboard wedding, I think we are planning on doing it on the beach in Hawaii.  Big smile

Congrats!! That's almost how i'd want to be proposed to haha. almost...

But I was riding at Sunshine couple years ago, and as we were going up one of the lifts there was a guy with a huge sign in the snow that read "(insert name), will you marry me?!" It was pretty cute. He had a littel bouquet of flowers too! :)

Congrats man, at least it's somewhere meaningful to both of you and not at a stupid basketball game halftime or something retarded.  I always hate those public ones

Have fun in Hawaii too, Maui was fantastic a couple of summers back, what a place.  If you go anywhere in Hawaii I have to suggest the [insert island]: Revealed books, they are AMAZING.  The Maui: Revealed book got us into places I would never have dreamed of...but the locals all hate it as it reveals all of their secret locations and places to eat.

Man that is great news, congrats.

I attempted to do the same thing last month. My fiancee is a beginner and although we had the trip planned for months, when the day came there was only 1 run open at 1 resort. I had the ring in my pocket all day, but because it was a zoo, she was crowded and pretty stressed out. Didn't quite get that perfect time.

Later that day, in an attempt at a plan B, we went to a great bistro in Banff for dinner, with a great spot by the window (w/ candles, wine etc..) It was awesome...but then a guy on a bike, right outside the window, got hit by a van. He was perfectly ok, but it killed the mood yet again. Funny story to tell after the fact.

Later that evening, on the walk back to the hotel, it was snowing huge flakes and was a beautiful scene, popped the question and got a yes! Very stoked. I know how you feel, honestly congrats man (internet high-five).

Nice, at least you got a good story out of the deal.  I bet you were dying all day to finally pull that ring out only to have things keep happening.  You're lucky you didnt get hit by a car while you were on your knee.

Congrats.  I bet she was really surprised.

If you are looking for a beach wedding, I would check out Belize.  My wife and I got married in Belize at Roberts Grove.  It was relatively cheap 8K or so for 10 days ( you have to be in Belize 2 days prior to the wedding to make it a legal wedding).  Not sure what it would cost in Hawaii, but last time I was in Hawaii everything was pricey.  The good thing about the resort is that when our guests booked their rooms they also had the option of the food plan, which saved me a ton of money.

That's awesome man, congratulations! i am really happy that you two can share such a passion with each other. I wish I had that with someone.

My brother just got married and the wedding was great!

Do you find it ironic that you proposed out on the mountain, but want to have the ceremony on the beach?

Congrats again!

I was thinking of doing this same thing! We are going to Crested Butte in March, and I thought of this too...but was wondering if I should do it on the lift on the way up or after we got off at the top.
