I am skier since 6. now I am 19.

Whole my life I was a snowboarder with my soul, but never had an opportunity to become one of them till last year.

And if I die snowboarding, you can say that I died happy!

I didn't start snowboarding till I was 21. I was a skier before that and its been 10 years since and haven't touched a pair of skis again. It was hard at the time to convince my friends to lets all give snowboarding a try and after some convincing they became boarders for life as well.

Tried boarding once like 10 years ago but Mt High wasn't a good experience so never went back again until I had the chance to go to Mammoth and now this is my 4th season back on the board.

I grew up skiing cuz that's what my mom wanted me to do: she thought boarding was too dangerous. I started i believe when i was 16 and never looked back.

Snowboarded for the first time on a North Carolina hill when I went out there to spend christmas with my entire family. I only remember being miserable out there, but i've been to CO and utah since and only had great experiences. Copper mountain on saturday

I tried once or twice back in college and failed miserably.  Should've taken lessons instead of falling for the "I know how to snowboard, I can teach you" fallacy.

Then when I was 26 I decided it was time to learn (after moving to AZ of all places).  Another friend tried to teach me and that failed miserably.  But I was determined to learn this time (I forced myself by buying all the gear first Big smile) so I took a lesson.  Ever since then I've been hooked.  I've been clocking 15ish days a season, and just keep pushing myself harder and harder each time I go out.  I've got some friends who are pretty good and I don't like to be the one falling behind of left to do my own thing.

Still have a few things to learn though, like air tricks and jumping cliffs.  Someday...

Since march of last year, I got into it kinda last minute. The first trip sucked, me and 2 other first timers went with someone who knew what they were doing. First thing we went to the top of the mountain, that was the worst decision of the day. I Would go a max of 6 feet before I would fall. After about 20 minutes of face plants and butt busters I finally just gave up and and sat down on my board and rode down snowsled style. About half way down the mountain I crashed snowsled style and my board takes off down the mountain.... so I get up and the people on the ski lift are like "Did you lose your board?" and I was like yea... Then they was like "Its in the creek"...I just kinda hung my head and walked down the hill and through the terrain park and got my board and sledded the rest of the way down....after that I just chilled with the little groms on the bunny slope. The second time I went snowboarding, something clicked and I was fine.

I think I was like 8 or 9, didn't start going more than a few times a year until I was 15ish.

Skied once, it's not too bad, but I'll take the board every time

first time, I was about 24, but it didn't really do much for me for some reason - the conditions were even decent pow at dodge ridge.  Didn't even bother for years (I couldn't afford it and I lived too far away...or so I thought), but then something clicked and I was hooked

The date of Chad's Birth: 1994
The date of which Chad first attempted to ride a snowboard: winter of 2008
The date of which Chad realized how amazing sliding down a snow-covered hill occasionally leaving the awesome surface to dial in some style: winter of 2008

I definitely wish I started younger, but better late than never.
