Revelstoke Mountain Resort, BC

Have you guys heard? Revelstoke Mountain Resort is expected to be 10,000 acres when they're done. That'll make it the biggest resort in North America! That's insane.

Anyone ever gone to experience the madness there? They got some heli-skiing there as well. Over ten metres of snow a year!
Reading this in the newspaper today. Everyone has got to go at least once.

i was there for a week last year. even though they had a crappy year last year in terms of snow, there was still TONS of snow mid mountain up. it's great because the terrain weeds out the beginners, and there were only a handful of intermediates on the hill. the place is already huge and the sidecountry/backcountry is massive. also has some of the best tree runs in north america. no park but there are cliff drops everywhere inbounds and tons of natural halfpipes and fun little rollers and to natural stuff to jib on.

only crappy thing about revelstoke is getting there. i took a bus from banff, the scenery is out of this world but the bus drops you off about 1.5 miles from town and taxis are hard to come by. the drive is great too but if you catch bad weather it'll turn into the scariest drive of your life. also the heli operation is ridiculous too. i met some of the guides in NZ they're awesome. all in all, probably one of the last real ski towns left with a huge mountain, no crowds, and no bs attitude.

i am planning on going to revvie next season for heli boarding.  probably do 1 day heli and 4 days in the resort.  

god that looks soooo nice...I want to go to BC so bad. Was it crazy expensive to get there? Also, it they become that big that would be nuts cause that mountain is already massive

I got there for a weekend at the start of April this year and it was the most ridiculous place ever.

would you rate this place better than Kicking Horse?

They are a couple of the most difficult resorts in North America from what I've heard.  My buddy went to Kicking Horse as an intermediate snowboarder and it kicked his ass, a ton of expert terrain.  I believe Revvie only has 1 green run...although it is like 10 miles long.   We almost went there this year instead of Sun Peaks but I figured it wouldn't be great for the wifey, simply too advanced for her.

Those pics look amazing. I can't wait to get there. Hoping I can work it into my trip in Feb.
