Hertel's good stuff and pretty cheap if you buy enough not to get reamed on shipping.

Burton flouro-wax. You get a hockey puck size for about $9. It'll last a while and is really slick on snow.
Shop smart... Shop S-Mart.

you can definitely find it cheaper at the end of the year if you search for it.  Usually REI or some place like that has it on sale .   Definitely recommend this stuff though, it's awesome!!!

There was someone recently talking about SVST wax that they sell for $20 shipped for the big ass 10 oz bars, but I can't find it now. Anyone else remember which member that was?

I'll probably be buying the big hertel all-temp brick next.  Heard it pretty good...if not, I'll have storage layer wax for life

the Toko 'universal" bulk sticks are very good. I used one all last season (maybe a little season before, too) and had great glide.  Cost me about $6 + ship (yeah, I scored)

bluebird has a 1 lb for $20....expensive shipping though.

hertels has 3/4 lb for around $20.  1.5lb for ~$33

purls has a 1lb of wax for $20

There are deals on one ball jay out there too for about the same price.

From reviews, bluebird and purls is more difficult to scrape.

Actually it all depends on where you buy it from.  I bought my bluebird from dogfunk with free shipping so it came out to 10 bucks a lb, but you have to spend 50 bucks for the free shipping.

I usually just order a bunch of the Toko universal wax from Tognar and split it with friends.  The wax works well and it's a pretty good deal when you buy it in bulk.

Just do a google search for all temp wax and use the shopping tab, wax is available cheap pretty much everywhere. One Ball Jay all temp is pretty solid.

Sometimes you can get a reasonable price on wax from ebay.  I've bought some wax there before, but I make sure to do some research on the wax before buying.

could be your base.  is it sintered?  if so, could just be a not so good p-tex formula.  what brand is it the board?

My omatic awesome (sintered) used to do that...loved the board/design, but, lets face it, those boards are cheaply made

It's normal for the wax along the edges of a snowboard's base to be depleted before the wax in its center because snowboarders/snowboards spend much more time "on-edge" compared to "flat-based."

It's also normal for a snowboard's base to look "whiter/drier/dried-out" when its wax has been depleted.

I usually get two full 8-hour days out of a wax job before I notice it slowing or "whiting."

I used to buy Toko All-Temp Wax in bulk but now use Hertel's Super Hot Sauce (All-Temp Wax).

I buy bluebird and hertel wax.  They usually have nice sales at end of season sale around springtime.  if you can wait, buy in bulk then.

+1 for Toko Universal
but also because the stores here usually only stock Toko or Swix, and I just happened to pick up the Toko. Very pleased so far with it.
