Ya dude this seems to fit the bill. Even has a temp control feature which is pretty much all you need for a good ol garage waxing. Make sure you pick up a plastic scraper (have a metal one wont hurt either,) and wax of your choice.

Nothing better than a freshly waxed shredstick.

I bought one from target that has holes.  It does not affect anything and wax did not go inside the holes.

this is funny, i litteraly just got done waxing my board and i saw this. i used one with holes and it did fine...it was pretty hard to wax my board though, it was the first hot waxing i'v done and i bought it used. i didn't notice it before but my board litteraly had ZERO base layer on it. It looked pretty good after i scrapped and rubbed the stick of wax on it a couple times. don't forget to brush your board to give it direction!

It looks really cheap. I would just go to walmart or target. I got mine from a 2nd hand store, well one of them and i worked fine. Now I use one that I found in a building that was getting knocked down and it doesn't have wholes but it doesn't matter much.

Mine came from K-Mart for $10, has holes, but doesn't matter cause the holes are for steam pressing your clothes, which you are not going to do anyway. Wax doesn't clog the holes in mine either. Skip the cheap import you are looking at and buy a clothes iron locally for the same price. I bought a snowboard-specific iron off ebay for about $35, second time I used it a puff of smoke came out the back and it never worked again.

Sounds like a sweat-shop product. 99 cents for an iron = cheap a$$ iron. I'd avoid it.

so honestly, isnt steam coming out of the hole meaning you're mixing water into the wax?

Looked at the link, looks like it'll die on you early. If you plan on doing your own wax i would search for a quality iron. If you buy it anyway tell us how u like it after a few times of use.

yuhui I don't think it's too uncommon for sellers overseas to just run their product through bablefish.

Have you ever seen engrish?

theres no steam if you dont add water to the iron. No water= no steam, so having a iron with holes is perfectly fine, as long as it melts the wax.

i use a regular clothes iron.
I'm in need of bindings for my 5 boards..

Wal-mart special for 6.50...

No need for anything else, this was local and cheap...but more importantly it does the job well.

Maybe next year I'll spend $80 on that Burton or Dakine model with no holes...

I love my one ball jay iron, but it was 40 bucks. I've found so far that money well spent is usually a good product.

I didn't know the irons at walmart were that cheap. Oh well. If they work, go for those!

And if you read the bottom of the auction it says not to use it for more than 30 minutes at a time. WTF?

the only problem with regular sized iron is that its not hot all over, for mine at least. only the bigger portion is hot and it doesn't fit between my gf skis that well
