Okay here is the deal. Dates Jan 21-23.  I rented us a house at Breckenridge.  Here is a link to the house.

http://www.vrbo.com/274806

The house is located on peak 9 100 yds from one of the runs.  Lodging is going to be $50 a night per person so if you want to stay Friday and Saturday nights it will be $100.  I am capping the house at 25 people.  I know we have at least 14 people who are in for sure.  I will list them at the end of this post.

Now for lift tickets.  Since I couldn't get 20 people who needed lift tickets I couldn't get them through Breck.  So the company I am renting this house from can get a 25% discount on lift tickets which is a decent deal.  If you are going to be in town to ride for 3 days I found a sick deal for lift tickets on CL.  You have to buy a 3 day lift ticket but it is only $178 so just under $60 a day which is about the best deal I have ever heard of for Breck lift tickets.

http://denver.craigslist.org/tix/2142619894.html

If you don't need 3 days worth of lift tickets then we can get them through the house rental company.  I am waiting on some more info to find out exactly how it will work.

If you want to fly in but don't want to rent a car there is always the CME option.

http://www.cmepremier.com/?gclid=CPe2gdH7o6YCFSVa7AodtjOcmw

They pick you up from the airport and drive you to the mountain.  They then pick you up at the mountain and drive you back to the airport.  People can also contact other members on this list and try and arrange to share rides.  If some more of the Colorado people step up and confirm to me they are in they can post up how many spots they have in their vehicles etc....

Lastly there are enough beds to sleep 17 people.  These beds will be given to people who pay me on a first come first serve basis.  Here is the list of people I know are 100% in.  An * will mean they have already paid me.  You can paypal me your $ or just pay me when you get to Colorado but remember beds are going to the people that pay me first.  If you do paypal me money please send it to me as a gift so I don't get hit with paypal fees.

If you guys have any questions feel free to PC, PM, or email me.

Here is the media thread from last years event.

I'm definitely in, I already booked my tickets, Jan 21 - 24.  I don't really have a preference to where we go, I would say which ever one is easier to get to.  I'm guessing I'll be taking the shuttle from the Airport or if people chip in we could rent a car.

I'll be your Huckleberry Bru.  You can count me in for 2-4 people.

Personally my preference is Breckenridge

Sad that they're not supporting the meetups this year... I won't be making this one but I think a few of us need to put our heads together and make "sierrapalooza" happen in Tahoe.

Thanks Bruizza!

Dates: Jan 21-23 (Fri - Sun)? Confirmed?
Transportation to / from airport?
Sounds like your idea of the group rate works well...also, would it be a Sat and Sun lift ticket?  Fri and Sat?

I haven't been to Keystone, so that would be my pick.  Although, it's been a long time since I've been to Breck, so either would work.

Setting cutoff dates will help individuals commit to the trip or not.
Need a yes or no answer by, when to pay for the condo, lift ticket money due date, etc.

EDIT:
Not to defunct Bruizzapalooza, but I'm making an assumption here that it's not going to be anything near like a palooza like the pictures from last yr that VTBear linked, hence the title:

Colorado Meet Up Jan 21-23

Not "Bruizzapalooza 2011"

Did you google it?

we can get friday tickets for those that need them as well as long as we have 20 people.  Or if we do it at keystone you get a free night riding lift ticket for the day you check in.  I believe it is good for 3pm and after.

Breck has better snow. I think we should just set a place to meet. We can make recommendations and call around for best available prices but I would let people handle their own scheduling. I can offer up some of my discount passes. I think asking just one person to make lodging reservations might be a lot to ask. We can also stay in frisco for cheaper as well and set up a group rate.

This is and always will be bruizzapalooza. It started before Sierra sponsored it and it will continue even if trusnow doesn't sponsor it. I can post up some other ideas later

Thanks bru

From what I recall last year Slopeside Condos offered reasonable lodgings at Keystone....Outside of the resorts Summit county offers many affordable hotels/condos in Frisco, Silverthorne and Dillon. There is bus services from/to all the summit county resorts free of charge.

This seems like a good deal! Makes it so we can ride Fri night, Sat & Sun! Flights are decent from Cali right now just concerned with getting around and lodging once there. . .
Like everything else in snowboarding, it's all preference!

Last year when we did a Pre BP meet up we reserved places at keystone.  I just gave them a group name and people called up and were able to book their own lodging at the group rate.  We didn't have any issues with lodging last year.

So here's the my 2 cents on the topic...

I think the obvious answer as to where to have this "stationed" is Breck. That way even if everyone is slightly spread around lodging wise it will be much easier to go out in town in Breck and have a great time. Much more of a nightlife and a variety of bars to go to.
Keystone does not have a nightlife... at all. There are about 3 places to go in Keystone and none of them are that great.
As of now Breck is also getting (and always gets) much more snow than Keystone and the conditions stay better longer. Keystone is in the shade a good part of the day which means firm to hard conditions most of the time. Crowds shouldn't be too much of an issue anywhere that time of year as the first wave of vacation season has ended and schools are back in full swing.

Now Bru, i'm gonna throw out this recommendation out on a Limb.... Copper. I know we don't have passes there, but it is a really good option when you think about it for pure riding for the group and a simple, easy, central location for everybody to be in the same close area. Copper is also a bit cheaper. Biggest downside to this is no night riding, but honestly, by the time most of you come here in the elevation and ride all day long, you're not really gonna feel like night riding at Keystone. And trust me when i say this, night-riding is NOT that great.
I'm just here to look cool...

If you guys get together at Breck I'll try to shoot up for the day to ride. Frankly Keystone is my most hated mountain in the world (it is solid ice 95% of the time).

Aww that sucks..Ill be there 13-16. But anyways, paypal would be a good idea to collect the money for the ticket. Alternatively, try looking into liftopia for lift ticket deals, thats where I got mine. Copper has a two day deal on liftopia. My two day past was about 123$, but I have seen it at 89$ for two days during weekdays. Check it out.

Quick question....  How do you guys feel about renting a big house instead of individual condos/rooms?  I have having A LOT of trouble getting any sort of response from the group sales people at Breckenridge.  I am finding some very nice places on www.vrbo.com that run about $100 a person for the weekend if we get 20 people to commit.  Obviously that price goes up or down depending on the number of people.  I know for a fact that 12 people are 100% in.  That doesn't count any of my friends that live in Colorado that would be down to stay with us.

For the record we have to have 20 people to book lodging through the actual resort.  We don't need any specified number of people to book through www.vrbo.com

What's up guys. Will be in CO from the 13th (evening) to the 17th. I know some of the locals are going to avoid the mountains like the plague on a holiday weekend, but if you are going to be out riding let me know!

i see you do math good?!

whatever the cost ends up being it is sooo worth it i assure you all.  50$ a night for lodging minutes away from the lift is unheard of.  I wish I could be attending but sadly have bowed out for this adventure.  Fun is guaranteed.  Normally lift prices @ Breck are $90+ so a ticket for 60$ is awesome as well!  A HUGE thanks Bruizza for taking the time to put this together for the community when the new owners FAILED big time.... Ill be there in spirit

Yeah pretty much but that is a great deal.  Like MTpow pointed out a normal lift ticket to Breck is $92.

Vail is bigger than copper for sure...  I didn't like vail anyway.  too much traversing.  Maybe I didn't give it enough of a chance...

I never went to beaver creak.

even if you look at the stats, vail skiable area is 5300 acres while copper is only 2500 acres... half the size.  Vertical drop of vail is 3500ft while copper is only 2600ft...

I guess my benchmark is whistler/blackcomb which is over 8000 acres with a vertical drop of over 5000 ft.

I think everyone who usually goes but cant make it this year should go to their local hill and take pictures of them self drinking at the slopes (because thats pretty much what goes on for the most part) and then post in here as respect! We may not be able to focus the mayhem in one spot this year but we can spread it around.
