I was at an REI and they had clear ones there. Or order off line.

How does one repair a board themselves? When I needed mine resurfaced I took it to REI and had them do it.

They didn't clean it very well and there is a nice groove that has dirt all inside of it. Pretty upset about that.

base grinding isn't really something you can do your self base grinders are to say the least not cheap, and mostly tricky to run.

How thick of a gouge/groove are we talking here?  I got some nice long lines in mine too but not sure when to apply the ptex or the base grind repair.

clear ptex sticks are Ok except for when you burn them they give off carbon (black stuff)  that will show up in the "filling"  and make it look kind of yellowish clear.  There are some videos on youtube on how to minimize this by rolling the stick in your fingers as you are dripping it into the gouge.  Also Make sure you clean out the scrape with base cleaner so the ptex will bond well.
I make handmade longboards PM me for info.

@Longboarderdude I've done a few base repairs before with clear ptex, and I've gotten a lot of carbon in it. Is there a way that I could get rid of all this carbon? Also, is the carbon bad for the base in any way? Thanks.

Doing a home repair. You will get carbon in it. You can get less with ticks. But a lot of shops can do it b/c they use a gun and not burn it. It is like a super hot glue gun. You can do it also with other tools if you are skilled.

REI is very hit and miss.

Some staff suck,  some think they know what they are talking about, and then they have a few good ones.
the deviation is huge, too big to risk if you dont know enough to spot the crazy talk..
