Hi,
I am leaving for Niseko Japan on the 20th of January and am wondering how much spending money (in Australian Dollars) i should take.

We stop in Tokyo twice and spend 6 days on the slopes.

Accommodation and Lift Passes have already been paid for so the main things i will be buying is food and some souvenirs.

i have about $850 (AUD) and i am hoping it will be enough.

Its a big experience so i dont want to be struggling with not spending money.

Has anyone else been recently and how much did you take?

if all transfers are paid for and you dont plan on getting any snow gear (prices are pretty close to aussie prices just alot more range)

should be fine

if you plan to be a baller and party every night and eat like a king...then wont be enough of course

having said that...beer is about 1.50 a can from local convient store

Don't approach a goat from the front, a horse from the back, or a fool from any side..

Best person to ask would probably be Ippy.
He's been to japan many times and i think he is the most informative in these forums about it. I think i read 10,000k a day was the benchmark in Niseko. But that is including lift tickets and accommodation.
Japan 2011 info thread. Last few posts are on Niseko.
Edit** His posts are long, so don't get lazy and skip them. Very informative.
If only Queensland had snow...

800 + should get you around comfortably.

Well, how much can you afford to spend?

depends realyl how much your planning to eat. living in tokyo will take a  good 200-300aud/night so thats basically more than half your budget. I would bring more if l were you unless you plan to eat instant noodle everyday.

That defiantly should be enough but if you don't want that much in your pocket you can get a visa travelers card or something like that i had one in italy and if I needed more money you can go to a atm and get some out of your regular account
