yes, these are non est bindings. burton has two types of cartels, est cartels and cartels (non est). the more expensive est version has better cushioning and "supposedly" has better flex than the non est version. according to the research i have done online, unless u were a professional, you would not be able to tell the difference between the two versions. ics aka burtons "infinite channnel system" allows you to adjust your foot setting more accurately to your stance vs the traditional 3/4 hole mounting systems. if you ever had a problem cause your mounting positions on your board either felt to wide or to close, burtons new ics boards maybe something to think about.
