Hey My Fellow Shredders,

Just looking to get an idea of what conditions will be like this upcoming weekend in the Salt Lake City Area. A group of us are visiting Utah for the first time and we will be checkin' out Park City and Brighton.

Temps are foretasted in the lower 40's for the weekend. What's the snow gonna be like with these warmer temps? Figured the end of January would be a good time to visit, but I wasn't expecting a heat wave.

Phil

Yikes.. 40?   There's suppose to be something coming down next week.  I will be there 2nd week of Feb to see the last stop of the Dew Tour: it would really suck if its 40s.  Last year it did that exact same thing in Jan.

Hard to say.  Utah has three distinct climate zones you can ride in.  If you don't get any recent precip, it could be rough.  I would hazard a guess that mid level north facing trees are going to be your best bet for good snow.  Even when it warms up there you can often find good stuff lurking in the shadows.

When did you finally make it up here to Utah... how was your trip? There was some SICK snow near the end of January... did you get some of that during your visit? HOPE SO! I rode 22" of new pow in Northern Utah (Beaver Mtn.) on 1-20-2012... it was amazing!

it won't be too bad.  40's in SLC means 30's up on the mountain.  we haven't had much snow for about a week, but everything is covered.  ride on certain sides of the mountain and you'll find better snow.  it's not going to be slush or anything if you go up high enough

Maybe he's still waiting for more advice from this thread and hasn't gone yet...  Wink

A quick peek at the OPs profile will show he hasn't been around in a while, too.

HAAha... yep... I totally missed that time stamp!

OOPS! Well... I hope this dude had a great time! 2010-2011 season was OFF THE HOOK... there was SO MUCH snow! So, he chose a great season to come up and hang out in Utah.

Yeah, next time I'll take a little harder look at the time stamp before I go shoot'en off my mouth!
