So I need new boots pretty bad, I ride a 152 Burton Hate that has a 25cm width. However I wear size 11 boots, the ones I have now are.. dont laugh... old Airwalks - hand me downs that got the job done for the last year. I'm worried that when I get new boots I'll have some crazy overhang so I'm looking at any boot that reduces the footprint. I know Burton has the Shrinkage Tech in theres but was wondering if any other brands had that technology? and if you have shrink tech boots how do you like them?

Other companies use that tech as well, and right now I'm using Ride Orions that have the shrink tech and they make me able to use either medium or large bindings with most companies, so you can save on sales

plus your old airwalks are alot bigger most likely. so a newer size 11 boot will already be that much smaller. old boots are bulky

Thats what I thought too but I've compared the airwalks to my brothers burton invaders and the Airwalks are smaller, the tow it much lower (if that makes sense)

Looking at the Burton Ruler and Ride Strapper Keeper - I have found those both have Shrink Tech. However Il have to order online so its gonna be dicey to get the right size, a lot of local shops are sold out of 10-11 sized boots...

K2s boots always seem to be a bit smaller. Maybe thats just me idk, but mine are pretty tiny for a size 11.

Salomon f20 and f22 are both shrinkage tech and the 2011 dc's dont say they are but they are very low profile. DC judge is an awesome boot you should try on.

I really like dc boots. The judge is a great all riding boot that if fitted properly eliminates any heal lift and is about mid flex. If you are are into a stiff responsive boot the Staus is a must but a bit more expensive.

The shrink technology really works and can be very useful if you are on the edge of needing to get a wide board and/or move up to large bindings

I was leaning towards the Burton Ruler but have ready a lot of reviews saying that the speed zone lacing system shreds the boot pretty bad and makes the boot unusable

Check out Burton Hails. I wear a size 11 boot so having the shrinkage tech helped me fit into my Medium Cartel ESTs.

Mine are going on 70 days and still look new.  I think burtons speed zone is by far the most durable lacing system available.

This may be somewhat true of the older speed lace system. I have 5 year old Rulers that I have been using for 4 seasons now. The speed laces get hung up when you try to loosen them and they are starting to be a pain to use. The newer Rulers do have an improved and easier to use system.

Does anyone know when Burton started using Shrink tech? I am looking at a pair of 09 Shaun Whites that are 30% off but need to make sure they have shrink tech...

If Airwalks are fine you don't need shrink tech boots unless you're getting really deep in your carves.  Wouldn't worry about it.

you should be okay, size 11 requires around 253mm or 25.3cm waist width, so you're only bout 0.3cm over, which isn't much.

I had the f20's and they were some of my favorite boots but they didn't pack out much and I outgrew them quickly

Do you think you could fit a 11.5 shrink tech boot on a 50 or 53?
