I watched this vid, at the 26 seconds mark the dude made some quick turn.

Any tip on how to do this? Just flex angle really fast? (I tried doing that but sometimes my board slips underneath and eventually endup on my butt)

Dang, I would never be able to spin in one place like that with my board.

And hes not really turning there, just kinda rocking the board back and forth.

If you're talking about the pow drop, they cut away right as he turned; he could have biffed it right after that.

The TBT does make the boards speedy, but after having ridden a Jam for a bit, I think I prefer the feel of a flat board.  I think they would be killer in end-of-the-year pondskim contests though.

To OP, are you talking about the back and forth quick turns or the cliff drop turn?

ummmm.... you need this board to do so, and only this board can do it.
 
just kidding, dude, just practice. you might fall a lot trying to do so, but it's worth it when you got it figured out.
lift your toes, and dig your toes in very fast but smooth.

Sorry guys...I meant the 29 second mark where the guys is making the fast turns...not that one where he drop on the 26 second mark.

Do I try to lean over the board while flexing my angle? It didnt look like he did it in the vid. I tried doing it but the board just slips under me.

just rock the board back and forth while sliding it. youll get the hang of it after a while. pratice it.

also they filmed it from like right at ground leavel so he probally wasnt rocking it as much as it looks like he was

practice.  hes just turning.  dont ride slow and learn how to carve, simple as that.  dont think about it too much, youll look goofy and probably wont figure it out as fast either.

Just drop some weight onto the edge and let the board naturally go where it wants, it will come under you and rotate to the other edge. Now your weight is on that edge. You don't really have to force it, just a little toe and heel work, just be loose with it. The robotic movements don't pay off in the long run

The quick edge to edge move you seen in the video, also know as edge wiggles or cross-under carving, is done by carving the board with active lower leg movement.

The center of mass takes a straight line down the hill while the ankles are flexed from one edge to the other. The front leg starts the action and the back leg quickly follows. On the toe edge the calve muscle flexes to draw the board underneath the body. On the heal edge the shin muscle is flexed to lift the toes and draw the board out in front of the body. When you want to switch from one edge to the other soften through the legs to allow the board to dart under the body.

Hope this helps.

Remember, practice makes permanent so use good techniques when developing your skills.

THanks for the input guys...ill give it a try on my next trip. Its good to start out with good technique. I have seen some poeole riding for years only using back leg to initial turns.

This.  Cross unders are fun.  I have no idea how to do them, just learned them via trial and error and do them.  That is what Doug is for

I picked up that move while just having fun with my board so I guess just keep practicing with you edge to edge skills. You certainly do not need tripple base technology to do all the things you see in the video. Of course, the tech does make it easier.

After reading up on their tech I feel like the triple base shape would help initiate that rocking quicker and maybe make it a bit easier (on the legs).
I like it, definitely going to check them out when I buy a new board, shame they don't have shorter boards.

^^don't know why they show that drawing with a scooped nose/tail because TBT is flat in the middle all the way through to the tips...guess it's just a cartoon to get across the basic idea.

If you click "TBT Dynamics" on the following link you can drag the arrow and it shows you the exact shape at any point on the board to give a better idea. It looks like the very tip/tail is actually scooped and the rectangle shape on the topsheet part of the diagram is where it's flat
