I fill up in some hick towns between Collingwood and Toronto. As low as 1.12 from what I've seen when passing through. Being privately owned, they're just not open 24/7, though.

Same here.  Gas keeps going up little by little.  Not sure why.

We are at $3.16 per gallon at Sams Club. And $3.20 per gallon at Shell.

It's gone up over .20 cents over the past couple months.

$3.63/gallon at the Shell gas station in Newark, CA

I hope that the fiscal cliff doesn't cause gas prices to go up

The Conoco was $3.09 this afternoon, so I'm sure the rest of the stations will follow suit tomorrow.

Three hours ago -- $3.25/gallon for regular 87 octane at the former Arco (Portland Ave. just off I-5, Tacoma).

Other "cheap" stations like the Shell on tribal land in Fife have gas for $3.49/gallon.

Yes it does, didn't think about premium when I wanted the extra power and opted for the Subaru Forester XT

Oh well still a fun car!

Up to 1.30/L in Toronto.

I can imagine what it'd be like to gas up on premium these days. 2 fillups would cost more than my monthly insurance.

^^Yeah, can't complain too much about having to pay $3.29 for "Premium" (91 octane) here in Durango.

...although the octane ratings here make me scratch my head...86/88/91 instead of 87/89/93 like I've seen everywhere my whole life.

well i have heard that engines at high altitude are able to perform the same at lower octane rating than when the same engine is operating at low altitude. I guess there are engine "ping/knock" issues that can occur from running an engine at lower octane ratings. That's a problem that occurs when a high compression engine has fuel in it that "detonates" at a lower compression causing misfiring in the cylinder. Apparently most modern engines recommend that you operate them at a 87 minimum octane rating but the 85 rating has kinda been grandfathered in at high altitude because it works.

Edit: after a little research... since the air is less dense at altitude you can use a lower octane rating because when air/fuel mix is compressed the combination of less dense air and the less compressible (less compressible fuels are more prone to autoignition/ the timing issue) fuel actually allows for comparable compression of 87 octane fuel at low altitude. But if you got a JAG put premium in it no matter what altitude. You spent 100 K on the car best take care of it. If you have a 91 honda civic. well then screw it.

Thanks for the lesson. :)
I have a Bimmer, that clearly states on the gas cap not to use less than 91 octane...didn't spend $100k on it, but enough to take care of it properly. I used 89 octane once and definitely noticed a huge difference.
