    Posted: Mar/02/2011 at 1:35pm
Well after 5 years, I am ready to propose to my girlfriend. We are visiting a friend in Denver for a week, and going to Arapahoe and Loveland while we are there. Anyone know of the perfect place to propose out there? Or even a romantic hotel in the area?

before going into detail, do yourself a favor and ask yourself are you both on the same page? you ready, is your gf ready to take the next step? have you thought about how awkward it will be when she say no? not to be a jerk, but do you really have to do it on a trip to visit your friend?

why can't you plan out a trip for just two of you guys and start from there? this is a serious thing to do and you can't just like "oh well, i'm on my way to my friend, why not propose to my gf the same time?" how romantic it is??? just saying.
hmmm... Now What???

At here favorite resteraunt. Have a live band and then do it, and if she says yes then like dance with her. Idk if that sounds cheesy though. If she loves you i guess it doesnt really matter.

that will be funny if she say no, not because she doesn't love you, it just randomly hit her unprepared and crap go to the other direction. we all think love will let us do what-ever, however and whenever we want. but in reality, crap happened before we realized it.

Call the ski resort and see if they can do something cool for you.  It's good publicity for them.

A few of the resorts do something special for you if you call ahead. It would be cool if you guys stopped at a mountain house at 13,000ft and when you walked in it was all decorated for you.

Oh and as a chick who lives for snow, I think it would be awesomely cheesy, but adorable to ask her at sunset up on Loveland pass, so plus 1 for that!

Just remember that she will be repeating the story of how you proposed for a long time to come.

So this is what my husband wanted to do when he proposed....We went on a trip and when we were at the top of the hill (strapping in), he was going to tell me something was up with my binding and help me out with it.  He was going to get down in front of me and propose.
This is how he did it... we went to dinner and when we got back to the hotel room, with our dog in the middle of us, he proposed.

I honestly don't know what I'd prefer better.  I liked the easy of it all, but I'm really low maintenance.  I would definitely call ahead though... doesn't hurt to ask.

I say go to the very peak of the mountain and do it there. If she says no push her off the back! j/k. Good luck hope it goes as planned.

Yeah, i would say somewhere near the top, with a good view, but not a place that is real crowded...unless you are into that sort of thing. I will give you a little word of advice...when i proposed to my wife last year in VT, it was a pain in the ASS to try to get her to stop in a good spot, or any spot at all with out giving it away. i guess that is the pain of proposing to a ski junky...ahhahh. after 2 days of trying, i ended up just doing it on our hotel room balcony. at least it was facing the mt! ha! it's cool though, she said yes, and we did keg stands afterwords with her family.
good luck mate!

Might be tough to single knee it on the lift....

And make sure you have one of those sappy speeches before you ask. The ladies want it to be as much like one of those bad romantic comedies as possible.

Do it in a place you and her seem to like... find a run that you really like? Do it there.  Find a nice hotel, do it there.  GOOD LUCK MAN!!!!  You better post that she said yes when all is said and done!
