I went on two awesome trips this year to Mammoth/June and then to Utah and then went to Mt. High down here in SoCal (which I reluctantly did) because I wanted the season to continue. I wish I hadn't because it was so unbelievably bad in terms of the snow conditions. It's early March and it's already slush!! For those of you out there who live in resort towns in places like Utah or Colorado or even Mammoth or Tahoe...don't take what you have for granted. Those of us down here in Southern California have the crappiest snow you can imagine and our season is basically just January-February.

snow snob...and for the record it was slush all of jan and feb due to the warm temps and it's not just now that it's slush

also our season is much better than the midwest...they're already closing while mt high will remain open until early april it seems.

Quit whining. I like nice snow as much as the next person, but sometimes you just have to accept what you've got and have a good time. If you can't have a good time in slush then do everyone else a favor and make the lift lines shorter by Going Home.

slush days = practice days.  Although I do wish we had better mountains around here.  Waking up at 7 to drive only an hour and 10 min to get to a mountain, come back by 5, eat and get ready for a club by 8.....I still wouldn't wish to live anywhere else.  ;)

My first time snowboarding was out here in SoCal at big bear and I was pretty spoiled myself... I'm originally from DC but stationed here and when I went home on leave I got the chance to go snowboarding twice... nothing like it was on Big Bear... I'm happy to just be able to snowboard still; a lot of the Pennsylvania ones seemed to be closing down around this time already while I think Big Bear has the TransAm tomorrow!!

I went up night boarding in slush on Tuesday.  It was a great reason to try new things, riding switch and trying to get better at my tricks.  You gotta take it for what it is.  If you go up during a bad snow day, you have to realize that a bad snow day is better than a no snow day!

I bought Your Baby Can Read DVDfor my 9 month old with her can read the series. We used two sets and the Baby Einstein DVD about a month. My daughter can make it through about half of the same session, with special attention and moves around the room The Tribe DVDwhile watching television regularly before buying the game, read reviews that said the parents being driven to madness due to repetition. They are right on repetition, but personally I think is great and does not bother me or my daughter at all. I think the gameScrubs DVD is really well done and on track with the way children learn. She is especially interested in Mother and Baby Einstein DVD that can play. It is too early to judge what has been recovered so far, but I'm still glad I bought the unit. I think it's a great investment that will pay off long term. I know Prison Break DVDthat most parents love their children to watch TV and do things - hey, me too.But try to remember to use these DVDs as the bonding time, now to stop, my feet, hold and speak loudly and praised what learning. We Meet The colors of the video library and two years of my years was caught. We introduced the TV and whatever you chooseTwo And A Half Men DVD for your departure. Like the characters in the videos of the first 3 or 4 videos are appropriate. site The words are a bit advanced. In the videos, the only words uttered by the characters or narrarator is the name of the color, letter, number, shape, or word. It's good for repetition and learning, but I would like to see proof that it is a good way to learn.

It's definitely been a kind of weird season so far weather-wise, but you really never know.  The temps could still drop and we could get more snow....

you definitely can't force the season to go longer, especially in california. i'm in the NE some weekends we have a chance but definitely not optimal conditions.

this thread is a lie. mt high's new prospective closing date is apr 26. not sure what bear/summit expect. but this all depends on what april weather is. a few hot days can kill the last storm quick.

Southwest flights to Reno are pretty reasonable from SoCal.  From there, many resorts run free shuttle buses, but only til the 1st wknd of April usually.

ya that does suck about night riding. i'm really stoked on these late season storms though. i'm used to mammoth getting march dumps but i can't remember the last time the locals got significant march dumps like this.

most of the local places I go are already closed or will be closing this weekend.  Can't believe people in socal are complaining.  they get awesome weather in the city AND they can still board up in the mountains.  Plus, they can surf.  And mammoth is only a 5 hour drive from LA. Socal sounds pretty awesome to me.

Dude slush is the funnest snow in the world to play on.  I love warm spring days in the park.  It feels like a water park.  If you fall it doesn't hurt.
