Hey all, heading to Snowshoe, WV next week for last trip of the season. Never been there before so just wanted to see what people thought of it and what to expect. What do you guys think are some of the best trails there and if you have any tips for going. Thanks.

Just went there for the first time last month. Where to go will be based of want kind of trails you like to hit. If you like blacks, go over to the western territory (if it is open). Cupp run is long and fun.

If you are more blues and greens, you will pretty much enjoy the rest of the mountain regardless of the trail. If it gets crowded, take the free shuttle over to silver creek. That side is usually empty during the day, because most people hit it during the night ski session.

You may also want to check in the travel section of this message board. In the east coast area, there are a couple threads about snowshoe.

Was suppose to go to snowshoe today to board tomorrow, but we ditched and are now sitting in a hotel 30 minutes from Boyne Mountain. Anyone know anything about that resort.

I was really looking forward to going to snowshoe I heard its a great resort, but the conditions weren't favorable, with rain and high temperatures.

When I was there, I only had fun on one run.  It was a black diamond and the layout was horrible cause greens kept crossing over the diamond.  Just make the best of it, have fun and be safe.

Prepare to get really tired.  I'm not a fan of snowshoeing, but I'm also pretty lazy.  If I'm out in the winter, I want a lift taking me to the top so I can let gravity take me back down.

^^He is referring to Snowshoe Mountain in West Virginia, not snowshoeing.

Definitely hit up Western Territory.  Also, there are some fun blacks off Soaring Eagle lift and there are hardly ever any lines.  If you are looking for nightlife, Connection is the place to go.  If you are eating out, I like Foxfire and Taste of Asia.

^ Taste of asia normally has some pretty sweet lunch specials too.  The menu says Mon-Fri, but I've gotten the price on both Sat and Sun as well.

I really dunno how the conditions are, cause I haven't been since the last weekend in Feb, but be prepared for some slush, because I can't imagine the snow they got last week is still snow with the temperatures they've been having.

I'm just looking forward to pond skimming.  Might be heading to wintergreen on sunday to hit up theirs.

Thanks for the info guys, yeah conds are going to be pretty wet. Just plan on heading there spending the night and having one day of riding in. I am just keeping my fingers crossed it does not rain to much. They reported 46" base today so I hope it holds out.

Here's a tip:

Go to the bar a little late, and look for the drunkest girl you can find.  Then buy her some additional drinks before they close the place down.  Good luck!

Except for one of the days that last weekend in Feb haha.  It was slush, but there was ice under it.  So the landing of almost every jump at silvercreek was literally just a sheet of ice, because of all the people that had pushed the slush off of it.
