ive got nothing to buy...price isnt worth a blink and the freight is a debbie downer...

could review some stuff but you get shitt*d on hard for doing half ass reviews and full reviews just take too long to write up lol

now now
no place for business here =p

looking forward to all season opening up
gives me valid excuse to head down to melb....even if it is with tiger air

Haven't been there (Snowpark that is)... seems okay if you like your jibs, not so much good for freeriders, obviously.

Wilz: Naah.. had a change of vocation and did land sales for new homes, then got poached... but I think I will be up for promo soon... *fingers crossed*

Woohoo.. Officially graduated uni last Friday.. Stoked!

Headed back up to Falls today and caught up with my boss and some of my mates who are still up there. Also did the hike out to Ropers lookout. Well worth the walk, keen to do it early next season before we get the decent snow falls.

Bjvinson - I'd probably consider it highly unlikely given they couldn't really get it working and running that well in Melbourne.

No official title, I don't think.. I guess I could chuck a 'B Bus (Acc)' behind my name if I decided to get a little bit fancy! It's the best feeling. But now I have to decide what to do next. Contemplating post-grad in eco-tourism.. Mountains is where I want to be for the next bit.. The extra year would be worthwhile!

IT'S SNOWING!

Sure, it's January and nothing will come of it.. But it's always good to see that there is a light at the end of the tunnel!

How's everyone's summer going?

I am lucky - My friend was up there working and sending me updates from her staff accom which was next door to mine, envious! I think they only got a sprinkling off and on, enough to cool the ground enough to settle overnight, so probably 1cm all up? Still more than Whis and most of the US got yesterday! You can tell it's been snowing, it's freezing down here in the valley!

Did anyone catch this awesome vid from Whis-Blackcomb this morning? It's absolutely mint! Video Here

happy new year all~ and i'm back from korea

so here's the update:
when to yongpyong and stayed in appartment called greenpia. the appartment was great, with heated flooring sometimes too hot. Average temp was around -14 degrees but less wind on the chair lifts, so it didn't seem that cold.

lifts are open from 9am - 2:30am. so nuts, but it was great not having to wake up early just so i can make the most of the snowboarding. so first night went from 10pm-12am (we got there late), second day it was 12pm-8pm and last day 9-4pm. there is 1 gondala which runs only in morning and afternoon. from there, there is a 5km run back down (blue) and a few blacks on the side (didn't go to those). the 5km run although sounds awesome, it was pretty tiring and my old habbits started showing ie leaning to much on my back foot. so we only went on the 5km run 3x as it cost extra, but really after 3 runs i was tired of it. lifts were also limited on the night boarding to a few blues and greens. but enough for me since i was trying to improve my ride switch and other tricks. and much less people on the slopes at those times. During the day there was ski school and stuff going on. so we headed to the black/blue section to avoid the crowds. the black was more like a blue run to me, so wasn't that bad for a boarder. snow conditions were very good. only found hard/ice grounds at 1 location. the runs were quite soft, but not powder soft. of course i'm comparing to Aus.

hum, i couldn't get hire prices for premium boards as lanugage was a problem. couldn't even get them to give my friend a shorter board or to change his bindings to goofy.. (i 4got to bring my tool). Koreans overall were very nice and tried to help out and chance they could even though they couldn't understand us. if u do go korea, don't follow the lonley planet guide for directions. only follow it for things to go, but ask hotels on where the resturant or place is. lonley planet directions were completely wrong.

overall, pretty awesome trip. if u wanna shop for fake stuff, plenty of that. Or branded, but prices are about the same for branded. I was mainly at Zara and Uniqlo at their $10 racks. bought way too much.

hope you guys all had a good christmas break as well.

hey wilz

sounds like you had  a blast...back to reality for you Tongue

this news gets more excited bout my trip year....seems the misses is too which is always a good thing

are you sick of korean food yet? did you get a massive spread of banchan at dinner or is that all a lie that you only see in pictures LOL

thanks for trying about the hire
i may have to bring my own board then by the sounds of things

wasn't there any stations with screwdrivers lying around? even Perisher/Thredbo has those

haha yeah 3 days of reality and i went off to sorrento for the long weekend!! haha

but yes.. i'm back at work now

nah i dont' think i'll ever get sick of korean food, you usually get 6 dish of banchan but you get unlimited refills. same with rice. but we did go to a place where we paid 20000won a head and got HEEPS of food. the table they had was too small for the food. it was awesome!

ahh to be honest i wasn't looking that hard.. i did find one screwdriver at the advanced area. but that was the last day. instead of screwdrivers, they have these compressed air jets that you can use to clean off the snow on ur jacket and board/bindings.. it's pretty cool.. spent like 15min trying to get every single flake of snow off my board/bindings.. hahah

somehow I don't see Perisher stumping up for that when they can't even put decent screwdrivers at the tuning stations! Doesn't matter, I just air-clean mine on top of my car on the drive down the mountain.

I think so.... I mean..it's not very practical... coz some of the snow sticks hard. It was amusing tho'... good on clothes. I think a wipedown would be a bit better.. but if you have a light sprinkling of powder it'd be more practical... we've been riding all day and yeah.. you virtually use the tips to scrape the snow off. =P

but the tips will scratch ur board!! haha

the only people i could see who should have them are store/appartments to reduce the snow getting into their business.

btw, we left our boards outside in the lockers... and when we came back icetickles formed on our bindings.. we only went to dinner...

i remember last year Thredbo had a one day facebook deal where you could get a half price lift pass. HasDoes anyone remember what time of year they did this? I am hoping they do it again and want to make sure I don;t miss out this time.
