OK, now I need Milwaukee to pull this darn thing out....can't stand Larussa.  I think he has known all along, and supported the use of PED's!

Ah well, the Tigers season has ended.  Was really hoping they would be able to ride on the arms of Scherzer and Fister to complete the comeback, it wasn't meant to be.  Now that the series is over we will learn who really was injured and the extent of the injuries.

Hat's off to the Rangers.

Sorry ctoma, was pulling for you there.  Must have been a tough game to watch (and I suspect you did watch all of it) the way it went down.

(Probably a tough day as well judging by what happend in the UM game, but I won't mention that right now)

I was disappointed to turn the Cards-Brewers game 7 on to see a blowout.  I had every intention of watching several innings of baseball in a row.  Actually now that I've typed that, it sounds boring, so I guess I'm glad it was a blowout.

Well, -b, it was a tough sports weekend.  Between the Tigers getting knocked out of the playoffs, U-M losing to in-state rival MSU and the Lions losing to SF I just didn't want to watch any more sports...

Rangers vs Cardinals should be an explosive series.  I expect to see high scoring games and lots of extra base hits.

My prediction, Rangers in 5.  If the Rangers had stronger starting pitching they would be unbeatable (I heard the Rangers are going after Sabathia in the off-season).

I threw that down before the Lions-SF game but, damn, that was a rough one as well.  Something about Harbaugh has honestly always rubbed me the wrong way, and it was confirmed in that presser after Stanford's bowl win last year when he was an absolute dick.  Hey, at least he's not coaching Michigan right, errr, well ???

EDIT:  back to baseball, I think this one goes seven games.

Rangers going after CC was a rumor, but the Rangers seem to have denied it so far. We'll see where Wilson ends up.

It amazed me how the Rangers and Cards routed their opponents in the decisive game to go to the World Series. To me it showed how much they wanted to get there and their experience in the post season. Hats off to the Tigers and Brewers though, always great seeing other teams in the playoffs than the usual suspects, keeps it more interesting.

piss poor management by the brewers and a lack of hitting ability in the the post season F'ed us. Why would you ever allow a pitcher who got SHELLED the last 2 GAMES start in a game where if you dont win your out. Oh well hopefully we can get rid of Fielders sorry ass now

I wouldn't be wanting to get rid of Fielder. He's better than most, besides I'm not so sure it's the Brewers getting rid of him or him. I think it's more him not wanting to play for the Brewers.

Rangers and Cards game 1 Wed night...almost feels like the same type of team...big bats, solid bullpen..but questionable starting pitchers...games are going to be close.

All-Star winning leagues gets home-field advantage is rediculous...

Hope the red birds can pull it off for Winnie the Pujols.

i think the rangers are definitely taking the world series. they are a better team for sure-the only thing that worries me is that the cardinals are red friggin hot and baseball is the streakiest game alive

True, the Rangers look great on paper. It isn't too assuring that the Cards starting pitching can't get past the fifth inning unless it's Carp. Although at this time of the year, sometimes luck finds it's way help the underdogs.
If it turns out to be an exciting series then I'll be happy.

Rangers have a shot but both clubs have great bullpens. Cards' bullpen is giving up 2.5 era and the Rangers bullpen has an opposing ba of .193! that's impressive, we'll see some big hits but the defense of both clubs should do very well.

Do you think it actually works?  Looks like a bunch of BS to me, but I see this damn commercial every day on MLB network.

I'm trying to get excited about this World Series, but I just can't.  I can't even decide who to cheer for.  Someone give me a reason to hate either the Rangers or the Cards.

La Russa kicks puppies, hates children and despises old people.  On the other hand his daughter is pretty hot (I think she is a Raiderette/Raider's cheerleader).

^^^ yeah, that and he's a pretty damn good manager.  If you're not excited about this WS -- which features the most offense I've seen since I was a little kid -- then you don't like baseball.  (Or you're justifiably pissed because your team is out of it)

Rainy conditions and chilly weather in for the night... Cardinals should do better in these conditions but both bullpens are hot in the postseason. No idea on who will catch the first break off a big hit though.

Cards can thank Bruce Bochy for winning the all star game and getting the NL home field.
is it just me? or is common sense not that common.

I'm thinking Cardinals in 6.  Good win for them tonight even though that missed-foul ball call was wrong.  Cards would have won either way

I hear ya on that one!
It's been hard to root for the Angels in the past years.

Really glad Prince Fielder and the NL all stars could give St. Louis home field advantage.
Close call for Cards fans when Andrus almost stepped on Carpenter's hand at first.

Prediction is Rangers in 6, but it'll be tough. Wilson needs to be just a little bit better. I still like Berkman even though I want Texas to win. Should be interesting.

It's gonna be tough for the Rangers to pull it in 6, especially if the Cards take game 2... They got the big hit when they needed them too.

i definitely thought the rangers would take it and they still may but im starting to get that feeling that the cards have that "it" that world series teams always tend to catch in the postseason.

If the Rangers can beat the Cards every game that Carpenter doesn't pitch..then they'll take it in 6.

Wow, if you told me Garcia was going to pitch 7 scoreless innings and the Cards would have the lead til the 8th inning, I would've taken the Cards...if they were up by more than a run...

What a great ending to last night's game...both teams aren't going to quit.  Couldn't believe Perez was throwing over 100 mph in his relief appearance.  And Josh Hamilton, pretty clutch even though he's not swinging the bat real well right now...just trying to put the barrel on it and it works.

Sh*t, Wilson needs to be a LOT better.  I heard an interesting tidbit yesterday, C.J. Wilson is the only pitcher ever to lose an All-Star game, a LDS game, a LCS game, AND a World Series game all in the same year.  Dubious distinction to be sure.

Both pitchers did a great job and the sac fly by Hamilton and Young got the W, never gave up against great pitching all night.

Still waiting for that offense to kick into gear.  I'm thinking with the warmer weather in TEX there will be more offense.  These pitching duels are getting old already, and I'm a baseball "purist."

Both teams are working pitching clinics. Neither team could get any offense going. It's going to be a battle of which bull pen cracks first...and I think the Rangers are going to crack the Cards bull pen wide open in Arlington. Have we seen the last game in STL this year? hmmmm
