Right now i think only nadal can compete against novak. Don't see anyone else being able to challenge him at this point. |

with the current crop of players, Federer remains the standout. Not only is he a great player, but also a true gentlemen.
Historically, harf to go past Pete Sampras, or the ice cool Bjorn Borg. |

Tennis is awesome and I'm glad it's getting more attention every year. Amazing athletes and it's pretty much the only sport where hot girls can still be good (and in the Madrid Open, they get all the balls too) and stay hot!
I've only been able to go out just once so far this season, but I'm loving my new racquet, Babolat Pure Drive Roddick GT Plus. I didn't play or progress enough to stick with my old Wilson nCode nSix-One Tour 90, amazing when you hit the sweet spot but so hard to find it consistently unless you're Federer. The Pure Drive is much more forgiving and offers a lot of power without sacrificing control. Highly recommend both racquets though! Just finished stringing up my best friend's racquet so hope to play lots more soon! |

Started already! Day 1 over, they start Roland Garros on the Sunday heh. No real surprises so far, few seeds fell but no one big. Saw some of the Tsonga match during my lunchbreak (Aussie time), seemed to be in decent form, not really troubled.

Looks like Murray is winning pretty easily right now in the French open. Does anyone know when Nadal plays?

Anyone see the special on Chrissy Everet and Martina Navatrilova the other day. I had no idea they were partners before their prime. It was pretty cool seeing the two stroll down memory lane...

Wow, nadal was down 2 sets to 1 to isner, then had to go 5 sets to beat him. that was a crazy first round match for rapha.

Murray did look pretty solid in his match. Can't believe Nadal had to go all 5 sets in a first rounder. Sharapova got to the 2nd round too

TOUGH match for Nadal, Isner wasn't going to be an easy match up any day of the week, sort of lucky to meet him on clay.
Won't get interesting till 4th round and quarters though, too many routine matches at this stage. |

I remember back to when I first saw Djokovic in the US Open during one of the preliminaries facing Monfils. What a punk kid he was, took so much time trying to recover from a cramp and thus Monfils lost all his rhythm and ended up losing even though he was up... I hated Djokovic. I still tend to root for the other stars when they face him but you know, he is a funny guy and works his ass off. And gotta give him some credit, he's good.
Dude needs to stop whacking his head with his racquet though. |

ive always hated djokovic too. i relished the years when he struggled with his conditioning and his serve. i don't find him likeable like for instance, rapha, or even del potro. i'm holding out some sliver of hope that the del potro of '09 can come out and beat djokovic (they play in the next round)

Whether you hate him or not you have to appreciate what a player he has become and how dominant he has been this year. It is like everything has finally clicked into place and his finally playing at his potential. One day hopefully SOON, Murray will flick that switch too heh.
Nadal is going to have a good fight for this year and the next few even with Federer slowly on the slide (though with Federer can you really say that heh, all time great) |

Del Potro was playing great in the 2nd set, able to hold serve and hold the break. Federer is totally under the radar since the main focus is on Nadal vs Djokovic. I think Federer will have a good run but don't think he'll make it to the finals. Wozniacki got destroyed, womens tennis seems pretty weak lately. The #1 seed doesn't mean much anymore. |

That is the one of the reasons i watch tennis. What's her name with the curly hair that is ranked way up there maybe #1 the blonde american girl. Checkout the women in softball and golf also. They are definitely pleasing on the eyes. |

Is there anyone that can actively play tennis AND racquetball at the same time? I tried, but found one screws the other up so much that I always had to focus on one or the other at any given time.
If you can do it, then my hat's off to you as I am truly in awe!

Federer is under the radar, but I am not sure he has enough of an edge on clay to win the French again given the strength of Nadal and Novak. He is a sleeper to make the finals though, and then anything could happen. His form is def better than Aus Open though.

in my opinion i think federer, although still highly competitive and graceful, will not win another slam. i hate to say it but if you watch tennis as closely as i do you can clearly point to the end of his dominance and his will to put in the "championship level" effort. once he had his twins his energy has not been there. if im not mistaken i think he won one title after they were born (2010 aussie) and since then he just doesnt look the same competive-wise. as far as pure skill and athlii ghe's my ffvorite tennis player of all time though. however, i've always gravitated more towards nadal bcause of his effort and heart.

It'll be interesting to see if Soderling can keep hitting the ball well enough to knock Rafa out again. Nadal's not looking too strong, but he's not going to give the match away, either.

Yeah, there are a few hot tennis girls out there who are definitely not #1 contenders. However, I'd really love to watch the Madrid Open live:

Nadal vs Djokovic would be a great Finals game...
Djokovic would need to win it all to break the 'matches won in a row' record of 46

Those aren't ball girls those are ball women. Don't see anything like that here in the states.
I caught maria vs some other nice looking chick yesterday. Volume was muted though so i couldn't hear maria's signature moan. It looked like maria won unless she signs autographs when she loses. |
