anyone here got a NS SL-

I've heard that the setback on the SL is actually minimal, and that (I think) most of the setback comes from the fact that the nose and tail are slightly different in shape, making the reference points "setback" in relation to the overall board but not so much when compared to the contact points.  I do not ride an SL and I'm not POSITIVE about this, but someone told me this when I said I was possibly hesitant to buy an SL because of the setback.



And on top of that, for a do-it-all board, it's totally preference-maybe you like a little setback and you never ride switch, and then that would be perfect for you! 

I don't have any friends who ride an SL.  I mean, you could totally ride it on big jumps, there may just be better boards out there for that.  From what I've heard about the SL, it'lll be super solid on landings, I just don't know how much I'd like landing switch with that big of a setback.  

The SL is setback a 1/2", not 2". It is set-back in relationship to the effective edge. If you really don't like it 1/2 set back, then its really easy to center your stance by changing the inserts you use and how you orientate your mounting disk.

As for the rest of your concerns i have to say this: You are kidding right? You are a scared of big jumps because of a little set back? Something tells me if you're scared of that then A) you have other issues with your riding to worry about, and B) The jumps you are hitting aren't big. Too me it rides pretty much the same reg and switch.

Never-mind the hyped brain-wash of having a true-twin, centered, board and answer me this:
How much do you actually ride switch?
How much do you actually LAND switch?
Is a 1/2" really even a concern? Look at a 1/2" on a ruler and honestly tell me it worries you.

My guess, this shouldn't be a worry for you at all.

so you measure contact point to the inserts? not top of the nose/tail to the inserts?
