I was at Sugar Bowl yesterday and it was snowing. Some of the Tahoe resorts plan to close end of April, some in May. But, with the new snow, they might want to open a little longer...

Wherever there are still snow i am so envious! I definitely need snow break right now if only it was possible. But to top it all off, I just injured my ankle :( boohoo, just after injuring my knee this season. Out of luck. My mountain is closed since a few weeks already and is now switching to mountain bike and aquatic park season. meeh.

It snowed all day at Northstar Sunday.. but it was last day of the season... sad!!!! How can they close on a day where they get at least 4-6 inches of snow!!

Seriously. Northstar and Heavenly had almost no "spring skiing" conditions this season. I've never seen storms right up to the end like that. I heard from an employee that the cost to extend the season greatly outweighed the income they would make. Turns out most people quit riding by April 1 to begin focus on the summer.

Yeah I'd agree with that champagne, the moment the sun came out my moping about missing snowboarding and switched right into working on the rig for camping and crawling. Snow? What snow? It's when the high rain is coming down (and raining in the valley) that life sucks.

i think a lot of CA resorts closed on days when they got fresh powder. I know mammoth is projecting to be open until July 4th.

(Mid atlantic) Ended april 10th. May day is on the 7th though, which is usually 1 trail after they push the snow around.

squaw is open until the end of may and looks like mammoth will go until july 4. alpine is open through may 15. kirkwood is closing this weekend, but reopening for memorial day weekend. they are also offering a free lift ticket for any season pass holder to another tahoe resort. sugarbowl is also closing this weekend. others still open are bear valley and china peak.
like epicentre, i too dislocated my shoulder earlier in the year so haven't been able to enjoy all the snow tahoe has gotten this year. well that and we got a new puppy so rolling up to the mountains on the weekends became nonexistent. i hope to get up to squaw at least one or two more times before the season is done just to make me feel better about using my season pass |

Snowbird in utah is still going strong. The snow is really baked by around 11 but if you get there early enough its not bad. Possible that Snowbird will be open through the 4th of July.

Just got back from Cooke City, Montana where the snowbanks in town were still overhead in some places. Snow was definitely warm- but you could catch a good corn cycle by riding in the 9am to noon window. You either need a splitboard or a sled setup to access anything here though. Lots of shedding is occurring at higher altitudes so be sure to have both avalanche equipment and the knowledge to use it if you decide to head up this way.

it's still overcast, i believe high in the 40's today. more snow coming in the next couple days. part of the 50 is closed for construction so you'll have to take a detour if you go that way. parts 80 was closed for part of the day yesterday and also during the night due to accidents. so, getting there won't be easy...

Well unless you've got a pretty big backyard with a nice hill on it, then it is somewhat irrelevant, right?

Does the sierra backcountry count? All you need is motivation to splitboard, snowshoe, posthole, or whatever you gotta do to get up there. (Plus Squaw is still open if you want to ride a lift)

Just came back from Blackcomb yesterday. Still cold at the top so snow was okay, not too slushy. There are some bald spot as you get close to the bottom. Going back this weekend since it'll be their last weekend for Blackcomb (closing May 30).

Still 130+ inches at Meadows on Hood, but everybody stopped going, so it's been closed for a month. Timberline goes all summer long though, and most of fall as well.
