The NFL Draft

No,  I'll watch basketball since it has more of an immediate impact on my team's performance. For the NFL draft, I'll just check it online later.

That would be a huge gamble.....

The panthers are going to pick him #1 overall... because they are run by idiots.

I'm not all that hyped about the draft compared to recent years..but I do hope 49ers get to draft Peterson..or Quinn..then QB on 2nd round..then I am all good with that..Or just draft a qb on later rounds just sign someone to run the ship once the labor issue settles down..

i don't like newton but he's goin #1.  carolina's offense was horrendous last year.  i don't think they want clausen to be their franchise qb anymore.

my personal opinion is the panthers need to draft an offensive linemen because they have nothing to build with, if you have an o-line you are definately going to win games, any running back can run through gigantic holes for 5 yards. if they get an offensive line they are guaranteed 8 wins... after that get some defense...

They don't need O-line. They are actually pretty well stocked there with TWO all-pro tackles. The issues last year was that they had a ton of injuries on the O-line. They may pick up a guard in the 3rd round but that will be it for the O-line.

I think they are thinking excitment factor and ticket sales and they know Cam will draw a lot of media attention.

Too bad the smart play would be to shore up the secondary and the return game at the same time with peterson. My second pick would be Dareus, from alabama.

But doing either of thsoe would require them to get a veteran QB. Get Kolb, or Hasslebeck, or whoever! As long as Jimmy "Scared Limp Noodle" Clausen doesn't take another snap.

Too late, they picked Newton. It could be interesting if they go to an option style offense, considering they have legit RB options, and Steve Smith as a deep threat to keep the safety honest.

yeah several reaches at QB.

Panthers picked QBs for their 1st pick 2yrs in a row...if Cam is a bust, Panthers GMs are out of jobs...

Forgot to mention that I be;ieve NO's had the best draft, followed by Cleveland considering how many picks they obtained fron Atlanta.

i didnt watch it, i think its boring. i just let my dad tell me all about it because he does whether or not i watch it

Detroit is going to has a nasty combination with Fairley and Suh(sp)

Those two DT are going to cause a lot of havok for some O-lines.

Kind of bummed we passed on Dareus, I really feel he is going to be a special player.  Miller is a great 3-4 Linebacker but I just don't know how he will transition to the 4-3.  At least a lot of good players have fallen to the second round so we can definitely try and beef up the interior d-line with those 2 2nd rounders.

Yeah Ponder to the Vikings was a stretch. I think they freaked when they saw the run on QBs and wanted to get one before they all vanished.

Ponder must have peed his pants when he realized the nice upgrade to his soon to be paycheck.

wow that was last night? I usually watch the draft, and I am usually upto date with who my team is going to pick (chargers) but for some reason (labor talks) I wasn't as amped on the draft..

zabisket, I hope you're wrong about Gabbert..if he turn out 2 be like Rodgers..then that would mean 49ers passed on 2 franchise QB!!! oh no! but I'm not sure about Tyrod..screw what the so called "expert" say..but Mallet..I hope they get to draft him..if not, then I'll settle with signing a vet..maybe a Carson Palmer..or Bulger..Palmer's just playing in a very tough division..face steelers and ravens defense twice/3x (playoffs) per year..you move Palmer to mediocre NFC West he can/will throw 25+ TDs!

J&J, I was pretty surprised you guys picked Smith, not what I was expecting them to do at all with what was still on the board.

wow niners traded with Denver that way they can get QB Kaepernick..another "project" move just like the 1st round? they could have drafted bum knee and all Da'quan Bowers! or Mallet!! wow, niners draft players who are 2-3 years away..lol..what an intelligent move!!!
