I did that once, although the jump wasn't nearly as big and instead of shouting "oh noooo" I shouted "F**k!" I had quite a sore ass afterwards that hurt for like a week.

Not to downplay how much that must have hurt, but i have over-shot way bigger than that and not wrecked myself that badly. There are right ways to fall and wrong ways. He did it the wrong way.

I didn't like watching that. Usually with big crash videos, you like to see them get up or make some kind of movement. With this one, the kid is either dead or the camera came off the helmet. It probably isn't good either way.

Depends on what you prefer, i usually drop my tail and pull my nose up and use the flex of the board to help when i flex my knees on contact, depending on far you fall this may force you to fall on you @$$ maybe not. It saved my life once but i did compress my spine badly. One guy i know liked to wash his edge on contact and slip into a laying or sitting position. Another friend liked to ninja roll, but he was a parkour guy and that seems sketchy to me. Stomping and/or landing flat is a bad idea because it can do nasty damage to your feet, ankle, knees, or w/e. If you land backside overshot, you are kind of screwed unless you manage to get lucky or it is a small jump.

The second one where they hit the rail seems soo much worse. I rather take an overshoot than land back or ass first into a rail then fall on hard concrete. But that's just me. They both got banged up pretty good. Hope all is well.

I once switched to my freshly waxed clean base camber board and on 1st jump totaly overshot the landing diving nose 1st!
 Not as big as this wash, but still, it really hurt. Was out for like 5-10 minutes.Didn't want to leave on a soure bad note, so I did all the jumps couple more runs again before heading out the park.
Ahhhh... Brings back memories...
