I've thrashed my Missions so I was thinking of upgrading to some new bindings, I was thinking to stick with Burton with Either Cartels or Triads. Unless anyone has a better idea?? Nothing EST!

If you do decide to stray from burton, then check out union forces! great all mountain. If not, the cartels are also a great all mountain binding. to me, the triads are just thecartels + more cushioning.

Thanks mate,
I guess that's why they've phased out Triads now.

the triad is actually a combo of three bindings, hence "triad."  cartel base, p1 straps, and 2007 c02 highback (triads came out in 2008 so at the time it was a trickle down highback from the one-year previous c02).  not really more padding.  they phased the name out but have the prophecy which is pretty much a hinge-disk triad i believe.

cartels would basically be an upgraded mission, slightly more responsive.  forces would be realistically the same as far as response but it's a different binding with some different "feel" to it, though countless people like both and say cartels and forces ride very similar, which i agree with.  i'm a force guy for everything i do, and when it comes to burton i'm a cartel guy.

sticking with burton, try cartels, or maybe malavitas.  with union, the force is your guy.  another that might feel similar is the rome 390.. and those three bindings are the #1 recommendations you will see all over the internet, haha.  it gets redundant, but it's for a reason.  they just work great for a lot of people, for their preferences.

Spenser already said it, but I'm going to say it anyway. I'm a Burton guy when it comes to bindings somimsay go with the Cartels. There really is a good reason why a lot of people ride them and why a lot of people recommend them. All I ride is Burton binders and they've never let me down. Cartel!!!

you can still get triads here on TruSnow and i highly reccommend them. i like them more than my cartels and missions. they are not too stiff for park, yet not too soft for the rest of the mountain and powder, and they are ridiculously comfortable. my cartels are pretty comfortable too, but i get pressure points after a while. my triads are comfortable all day long, i would get them, even though they're a few years old.

I got my Cartels last year and rode it for this past season and love them.
I'm sure you can find some good deals online for the past year's or used

Not sure what kind of riding you like but based on your Missions, the Cartels seem like the logical upgrade for advanced freestyle. If you want stiff with response, I highly recommend the C60, LOVE 'EM!

Cartels are great you should notice a big difference with the cartels. Stiffer and far more responsive than customs. You wouldn't go wrong with Triads either.

I have owned 3 pairs of cartels and now own 1 pair of Cartels 2009 and 1 pair of Malavitas 2011. I like them both and you cannot go wrong with either...they are both great bindings.  The Malavitas are almost as responsive as the Cartels but a little more cush of a feel...right now I probably prefer the Malavitas a little more...love the asymmetrical strap.

I did not really notice the canting while riding, buy my knees were less sore afterwards. Im not sure what burton is planning on for 2012 with canting options, but ride and rome seem to offer the most amount of options.

K2 offers some bindings with canted footbeds, too (K2 Formulas for example).

I have Rome Targas and I'm using the 3.5° cant pads.  It may be psychological but I agree with Dsturs, my knees felt better/less worn and tired after riding a full day.

You can score some Buront Malavitas for pretty cheap right now and they are super cushy and comfortable.  Plus they come with 2 sets of disks for whatever kind of board you want to set them up on.

i HATED canted footbeds. i had the ones in the un inc EST bindings, and for some reason they hurt my feet SO bad, i think it just put them angled in at a weird angle and i put way too much pressure on the outside of my foot. anyways, i bought some new foot beds, just the regular flat ones, and they felt fine. i was surprised, i thought i would love the canted beds as i have semi-wide stance, but i did not at all.

if you want canted beds, i would try them out first before you drop the cash on them and later hate them.

Big fan of Cartels.  I have both the EST and the regs on different boards.  Love em both.

I went from Missions to Cartels, and they fit my style of riding way better. They're a little stiffer, which helps going over the bumps, and the price is right.

I have a better idea. Get some union bindings. The forces are solid bindings.

I've had my cartels for 3 seasons and I still love them. To be honest, I'm afraid of buying another binding because I've been so happy with Cartels.
