Made some mini fajitomelettes for breakfast this morning. Had some leftover pepper/mushrooms from making fajitas a couple nights ago, so tossed those, along with some cheese and ham, and then topped it off with some chipotle hot sauce and a guac/sour cream mix.

I need to watch out for that if it goes on Groupon. I need to search and see if there is one around my area. I would pay for AYCE filet mignon, that sounds crazy good

I think it's because I usually go on Fridays/Saturdays when they have the Fillet Mignon special. I mean, who wouldn't pay to eat a filet mignon buffet? With Groupon, it's about $35 a person.

Got a "fathers eat free" on fathers day so might go again for that.

so...much...meat...

Funny you mentioned that.  I just drove by the Fugo De Chow this morning.  On Flamingo and Howard Hughes.

Looks really good (checked out the website), but it definitely seems like a special occasion type place to eat $$$.

Perfect for someone on a low carb diet lol.

I love Kimchee Pancakes but the little shops I go to don't have them, so I make them at home.  My favorite, though, is either kimchee chige (kimchee soup) and ja jang myun (brown bean paste noodles)

On another note, I finally picked up that Huntington grill from Lowes.  Last one in stock.  Put it together last night and did a burn in plus seasoned the grates.  It's a little smaller then my old grill but it's SUPER nice.  All the burners fire right up with one click and it gets real hot real quick.  Will grill some burgers and dogs tonight just to get use to it but hope to try some steak or ribs on it this weekend!

Wow, you guys spend so much money on just eating!  Shocked

When it comes to Korean food, my fav is hot tofu soup.  I could care less for all the side dishes.

Thankfully my gf took me out for my bday dinner so I didn't have to pay a thing but it was in the $50 per person range. Still very steep but worth a try.

Love Korean food and the amount of sides you get! but I find there's no room on the table for my porkbone soup when it shows up. Literally juggling dishes to create space. Lol

no problem!
I usually wait until there's a Groupon for these types of places. They are pricey! I mix it up with the steaks though, if you get a chance to try out their salad bar they have some interesting stuff. I sometimes try to pair a certain veggie with steaks.

Yes that's exactly it! I went to a place called Copa Cabana in Toronto and they had close to 30 selections of meats. They give you a card that tells them to come by if you want more food or flip it over and they skip you to take a breather. Well they kept coming regardless so I wasn't complaining. Amazing food! I don't think I'm gonna be eating meat for the next couple weeks. But I recommend this to anyone who hasn't tried Brazilian style buffet. A bit pricey but well worth.

@haiv - thx for posting a pic cuz I forgot my camera.

I haven't had Hometown in like a decade!  I like their mac n cheese and fried chicken.

Their mac and cheese is soooo good. I used to get it every time way back in the day when we would go there cuz family was in town, it's the easiest to pay, and all the kids can eat whatever they want :-)

That's shaved ice that you get at the asian places for dessert. You're probably thinking of frozen yogurt if yogurtini or peachwave is like Menchie's or Pinkberry

I wouldn't attribute that to the salad, unless you are just eating a small portion, in which case that's the reason.  anyway, per calorie, plants are more filling, and your body is actually held over better from hunger when your diet has a lot of plant foods high in fiber (fiber is only found in plants, and it's in every single one) and nutrients.. it's just how the body works.  anyway, if you take 200 calories of salad VS 200 calories of meat, the salad fills you a whole lot more by volume alone.  your stomach has stretch receptors all around it that sense how full you are, and it tells your brain.

one way that you can eat plenty but still end up feeling hungry is with processed foods.  they are engineered to be calorie rich, nutrient deficient, and make you feel hungry again soon, even if you are full, which is why people whose diets are heavy in processed foods (so basically all americans and much of the world) tend to keep eating even when their stomachs are sufficiently stuffed.  sugars, salts, etc.  again, it's just how the body works when it comes to those things.  the times when I have felt full the longest have been after a big bowl of salad.

that said, everyone is different, but this is just the general science of it.

I have been making my own pizza from scratch, which somehow makes me feel better about the frequency with which I eat it.

I made a pretty awesome new one, where in place of sauce, I cooked some garlic into alfredo pasta sauce and added light cheese, sliced chicken breast and turkey bacon - on my whole wheat crust.  It was pretty good, but to make it less healthy, I made too much of the alfredo sauce and dipped the crusts in there for more flavor.

Had a steak salad for lunch.  Sliced up some leftover steak, grilled it up with some onions, and put it on some chopped lettuce.  And added olive oil and vinegar.

Pretty good, but every time I have salad for a meal I'm always hunger again like 2 hours later.
